I was riding my bike to class yesterday, flying down this great hill, green light go, when a car turning right smacked in me. Bumper crushed my foot against my bike, and then I go flying. Thankfully, I didn't hit my head (no helmet!) and my North Face jacket saved me from some serious road rash (without a mark on it, too, I might add!).
Anyway, my right calcaneus (heel) bone is shattered.
Normally, I'm not one to share personal stuff, but dang, I'm just feeling so helpless, scared, off-kilter (in more ways than one).It also hurts like a motha.
My life revolves around being outside, hiking with my dog, biking, swimming, etc. Snowboarding and cross-country skiing season are just around the bend. But not for me. And what I've looked up, heel bone fractures aren't known for a speedy, or full, recovery.
I'm sorry. Got a serious case of woe-is-me, and I figured it might help to just get it out, then let it go.
