I have another question for YOU to ignore

If it were truly our desire to disciple all the nations to become disciples of Christ, ought we not bring the Bible back into our schools, and teach our children the ways of Christ?

What is a disciple, and what is the purpose of discipling?

verb (used with object), discipled, discipling.
5.
Archaic. to convert into a disciple.
Obsolete. to teach; train.
the definition of discipling
The same people who twisted scripture explained the words of twisted scripture. Can you not see that?

Take yourself away from the idea that God protects meaning on paper.

Now imagine you lived then when Jesus died and you believed in him. You were his disciple.
You were being taught by the living Christ. Now he is dead. What do you do? Many people left off learning from him. Will you? He appears and tells you that if you keep learning from him while to nations you go with the good news and you teach and baptize willing ones HE WILL BE WITH YOU.

What will he do being with you? He will keep teaching you. That is what he is telling us.

I will keep teaching you, but you will live in nations, because I have told you that you will not follow me presently.

It means keep living for The Good News. To live for the Good News is to disciple (the verb).

Do you know what a strawman is? I didn't for the longest time. Internet is a difficult concept for me to get the hang of it but I am working on it.

Good question, though! Individuals can bring their Bible to school. All should be allowed to do that. To campaign for all to do it is to be a part of the world, something that Jesus says we are not.

Is it possible to disciple someone, to teach someone, to train someone who is unwilling to learn?
No, and think about that.

If it is true that someone who does not want to be taught can't be taught, then why, oh why, did the greatest soul in the history of the universe command that we do?

Because He longs for every human heart to be turned to Him. But some won't.

So it is okay for students to teach students, but it is bad for teachers to teach students? Something seems a little twisted with this line of reasoning.

OK. Please pray for understanding.

A disciple is not qualified to teach instead of The Teacher (God).

A disciple is someone who is being taught by God and by this other people will be drawn to be taught by God. By Jesus (not his real name) saying teaching and baptizing, he gives permission to his followers to do it. It is never a substitute for being taught by God, but it is what has happened. It is a disappointment.

I have already shown what the definition of the verb disciple means. It means to teach. It means to make disciples of. Show me why this definition is incorrect.
Show you? I have many, many times reasoned about it.
I have said that anyone who would have allowed the verb to be changed to a noun and plural, none the less, would have the need to cover his god damned tracks. That is why it says it means to make more.

THINK for the sake of everything holy.

What can The Holy Spirit say about making more and more and more and more people to call themselves Christian?

Can God not save by few? Nope! Not according to Matthew 28:19.

1 Samuel 14:6

Matthew 19:26
Jesus looked at them and said, "With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible."

YOU all have Jesus saying that we are commanded to do the impossible.

This is what you are dishing out to people who should like to follow The Christ.

In what way do I benefit if I really was twisting scriptures?

I realize that the one who I believe twisted it would benefit by bringing more souls into the church.

The more people who believe a certain way the more seductive the way becomes to some types of people. On the internet, I see that they are called sheeple. Rymes with steeple. More sheep-like people, the better the place of worship can be. Sheeple are good at following orders. The order written is To Be Making Disciples. Disciples of what do they make other people?

But, in what way do I benefit? @Sonofason

Well, I have done that. I began this response at first with a lecture regarding the various ministries of the church of Christ. And then via the Holy Spirit, it dawned on me, that this is not where you are going...that you couldn't care less what the Bible says.

No, it now seems to me that you are suggesting that the Bible in its entirely is meaningless, as nothing in it was written by God. It seems that you believe that you shall be the one to judge correctly what "The Teacher" God is teaching you. I am supposing that you intend to rely on your own conscience to make the distinction. Though I wish you well, I might suggest taking a look around you. That's what everyone is doing, and I don't think it's working out very well.

You seem to be saying that your church and its understanding of the scriptures is more qualified to teach about Christ than Christ is. Have a good day!

I do not belong to any particular church. I was referring to "the church" as the body of believers in Christ.

I personally believe that the Bible, which is God's message to us through its various agencies is quite sufficient for my learning about God. It has brought to me, as promised the Holy Spirit, which fills me nearly as much as I seem able to bear. The teachings of pastors and ministers are not necessary. I have the Word of God, and His Holy Spirit guiding me.

I would like to attend a church one day perhaps, because it was commanded of us to do so. I believe it would be a good thing for me to do. I just haven't brought myself to do that very often. Life is pretty hectic. I have on many occasions gone to various denominational churches, and a few non-denominational churches. I have no significant problem with any of them, so long as they profess the name of Christ my Savior.
