I kill kittens.

Would you have taken a spider to the shelter?
Would the spider even have been accepted by the shelter?
Why does a feral cat have a greater value than a spider?
I believe I could make an arguement that a spider has at least as much value as a feral cat.

1) No, because spiders tend to have a better knack at living outdoors than a motherless kitten. However, when I find a spider in my home, I don't put him out either.
2) That depends, actually. A tarantula would be. :p
3) I don't believe a feral cat has greater value than a spider.
4) I'm already making that case.

Personally I think having ones skull crushed immediately is pretty damn humane as far as death goes.

There's euthanisia and then there's slaughter.

Having one's skull crushed is not euthanasia.

So, you don't have any no-kill shelters where you live?
Possibly now, but not at that time.

If all he was doing was crushing the skull, how did he get intestines squirted on him?
To crush the entire animal is the only reliable way to do it painlessly.
A partial coup de grace would be unacceptable.

There's euthanisia and then there's slaughter.
Having one's skull crushed is not euthanasia.
This is of course just your opinion, & mere word play.

Perhaps you are embarrassed by how you define innocent.
That would explain your avoidance of defining the word.

I'm not embarassed of anything, Mestemia, I do applaud your attempt at condescension though. Always a nice touch in a civil debate.

I just don't play childish games when I'm debating, which you obviously do, so I find no reason to continue this. :)

And here you run tail tucked from the discussion still without defining the word, even when flat out asked.

And I am the one being childish?
Nice transference.

Circle One: Funny you should mention spiders. I don't kill them...just take'm somewhere more appropriate.
But don't ask me about mice. While I don't enjoy death of kittens, I do find that mice deserve it.

Not running anywhere, actually, just leaving school. Do I have your permission for that?

But as I said, I don't feel the need to continue a debate where the other person cannot debate properly without debasing or attempting to make fun of someone else. I am no longer a toddler, nor do I spend my days on the playground, so I, for one, have matured from those antics. I apologize for my belief that we could have a sensible, civil debate, as you are obviously not capable of this.

Sorry Pete, I leave you to the rabid wolves. My bus is here.

Then why did you start the childish game in the first place?

One would think if there was any truth to your statement "I just don't play childish games when I'm debating" that you would have merely defined the word and be done with it.

Depends Upon My Mood..
I'll say again..THIS will happen again and again..GET rid of the adults. The kittens are dead..DONE and over..They are dead..Where are the mama and the papa?Since you started this thread she has probably already dropped another litter or is full blown pregnant..Where is the daddy?

And please don't say "easier said than done"./.Unless you want to keep bashing kittens in the head with a shovel..KILL the adults..Or capture them and spay and neuter them./..

I have cats..the only one that "ran out of control" was one I found as an adult..Mama kitty..how do you think I named her?YOU got it..she came with a litter..got pregnant and pregnant again in about 1 and 1/2 years..I finally adopted her and had her UTERUS removed..They can have 10 or 15 kittens a year..

Love

Well.....tis easier said than done, since I hadn't seen any more feral cats in many a year.

I don't agree with your choice, but i respect that you chose the action that you felt was the most compassionate.
Thank you for saying so. Twas a weighty decision.

I think there's a horrible social injustice amuk among us. We say it's wrong to kill kittens. Why? Because they're cute? What about spiders? Just because we have a natural aversion to spiders, we're arachniphobic, and it's just great to kill them. Is there any logical reason that spiders, most of which are completely harmless, are disgusting and deserve to die, while kittens are cooed at and protected just because they're fuzzy? Well some spiders are fuzzy too! There's absolutely no logical difference between spiders and kittens. Someday the world will come to terms with this, and we can all die in the barn equally.

No logical difference? Do spiders form a bond with humans? Do they display loyalty and affection? Are they capable of the emotions that mammalian companion animals are?

So if animals don't serve our emotional needs, then they rank less in the rights department?
That has some interesting ethical implications for the treatment of people who don't form such bonds with others.

The point was that mammalian companion animals are on a higher level than insects for aforementioned reasons. You wouldn't equate a human with bacteria, even though both are life, correct? It's obvious what I meant, so let's avoid the poor attempts to twist things.
