When you feel like that PM me and let me know which posts are bothering you. That's what I'm here for. It always helps to talk to some one.

Feathers,

Don't sink to their level. You strike me as a caring, compassionate person and perhaps you just need some time away.

I find that when I strike out in sarcasm at someone (who admittedly may deserve it), I feel worse about myself...but then that's just me. So when the forum starts to get me down, I quietly go away for a few days or weeks. Usually by the time I come back things have settled down and people are behaving with a modicum of decency towards each other....or they've gone away because they've done their troll bit and have moved onto other waters.

Melody,

you don't have to be sarcastic, but sometimes you do have to point it out. I have had my beliefs compared to a pile of dung, yet if I were to say that about any other religion, the "tolerance" trump card would be played in a flash. I have been told repeatedly that my posts are only "opinions" and yet the same poster had the nerve to "assure" me that his views were correct. It's like fighting with one hand tied behind your back. The sad part is, when you point out these inconsistencies, there are no apologies proffered. Just more, "I'm right and your wrong" rhetoric with caveats that they aren't going to discuss the issue any more. It's clearly a double standard.

Feathers,

I'm sorry you've been feeling this way lately, but I agree with a lot of the others. Sometimes stuff like this just builds up and some time away is needed. But don't take too much time away, because your posts are some of the most enjoyable for any of us on here to read. You always have a kind word, uplifiting encouragement, or funny comment to make everyone feel welcome and at ease.

May the feelings of frustration pass through you quickly.

Thanks for all the new suggestions and help, guys! I'm sorry if I worried anyone into thinking I was really upset- more just unnerved. Now I'm... er... renerved? Yah, renerved!:jam:

As I told one of the people posting, I'm just no longer going to invite their negativity in. :149: (See? Adamant icon is being used!) :D

Bastet, you have an amazing gift for helpfully reminding me of my babbling journals. Here's to another tigress! *cheers*
;) Anytime.

And I'm blasting out to Queen! I can't hit the notes Freddie Mercury does, though.:(
But the fun is in trying! I've been listening to nothing but Queen for a couple weeks now, and I'm sure the neighbours are sick of hearing me try for those notes - especially when I'm in the shower, cause I don't hold back. :biglaugh:

Tonight I'm gonna have myself a real good time
I feel alive
And the world I'll turn it inside out yeah
I'm floating around in ecstasy
So don't stop me now
Don't stop me
'cause I'm having a good time
Having a good time

I'm a shooting star leaping through the sky
Like a tiger defying the laws of gravity
I'm a racing car passing by like Lady Godiva
I'm gonna go go go there's no stopping me
I'm burning through the sky yeah
Two hundred degrees that's why they call me Mr. Fahrenheit
I'm travelling at the speed of light
I wanna make a supersonic man out of you

I don't wanna stop at all

I'm a rocket ship on my way to Mars
On a collision course
I am a satellite
I'm out of control
I'm a sex machine ready to reload
Like an atom bomb about to oh oh oh oh oh explode
I'm burning through the sky yeah
Two hundred degrees that's why they call me Mr. Fahrenheit
I'm travelling at the speed of light
I wanna make a supersonic woman of you

So , our little Hobbit is a Tiger in disguise eh ? Feathers , I think that Bastet gave you some very good advice there . Sometimes it is better to say something then to let it eat at you . Or , just walk away . Tiger teachs Strenght and Willpower , and the right time to use it . ;)

Feathers, there is nothing wrong with 'unsheathing' your claws now and then! I have noticed some of this 'unsheathing', and you have nothing to be ashamed of. Even in your claw mode, you are still civil, and treat the offender more kindly than they deserve. You have no need to apologize.....;)

More great advice! As if I could ever expect any less of you guys!

Thanks, especially, for the reminders of the proper use of claws.

I love that photo, Mrs C! (Especially since goats have always been a favorite!)

Did you draw the superhero-type person, Mr C? (Another pic I loved!) It perfectly captured my 'take on the world' attitude toward those posts! The persons hair looks exactly like mine!

Just remember eaven hobbits fight when they have to. :jam:

sometimes though the answer is to walk away and take a breather. I generally go out for a howl and a run in the woods

I honestly doubt that you would do or say anything that would give such great offence that it would get you in irreperable trouble. I think you would get little more than a 'woah' from a mod we would all be so surpized.
"woah, did you see what feathers did?" mod 1
"woah" mod 2
"yeah, woah" mod 3

Someone throw some reigns on me, please! I'm getting angrier and angrier at some of the more recent posts, and it's causing me to (as someone put it) unsheath my claws.

I don't like having these claws out! I'm worried I'm going to offend someone- wait, I should say that the scary thing is that I'm hoping to offend someone, and that worries me.

Please help me guys! This feeling of wanting to offend certain people, or to confront them on their judgements about others' beliefs, just doesn't sit comfortably with me. I'm scared I'll say something that a Mod would have to delete, because I've never wanted to be that sort of person.
Feathers, sometimes you need to let it fly, cos if you keep bottling, all that's gonna happen is you'll throttle some fast food restaraunt employee because you can't get a breakfast at 10:03am. Sometimes it makes people take a better look at themselves and what they're doing when the person they least expect it from has a go.
Even the best of us wants to offend someone...sometimes those people need offending.

Oh Feathers, I agree with the other people, you are one of the most tolerant people here. I sometimes get frustrated with some posts but I just try to ignore them and go and reply in another thread. It's hard, but it will be okay! I promise! :)
