I still wonder what the God's think of me doing this :(

There is actually a story (more than one actually) in the Devi Bhagavatam in which a man in asking for a son. Well he had these fire sticks and an asura comes to seduce him. He will not sleep with her so his vows won't be broken. Well long story he short he got VERY excited and his seed flew onto the sticks. He continued to run the sticks until the caught fire. From the fire and the seed his son was born.

That's an interesting story..I was wondering if anyone else has dealt with this problem and how have they overcome it? I plan on praying heavily to Krishna tomorrow night on his birthday and helping him for guidance and foregiveness

Here's a suggestion.

Collect and throw out without mercy all paper material that you may find in any way arousing.

Don't eat anything.

Drink only water.

Unplug the internet connection.

Every time you feel the arousal in you, instead of leting your hand wander, do push ups.

In the end, this is less a matter of morals than it is of willpower.

Fight it head on.

And if all else fails chew gum -- with a vengeance.

Don't channel anything. All the energy of arousal will eventually find a way to arouse you in exactly the way you no longer want.

Instead, exhaust it until it is no longer there.

And that's it -- no meat until you no longer feel arousal.

If you mean this jokingly, I think its a great idea :D

I still can't get over this feeling..I feel like I'm the only Hindu who has dealt with this problem and I feel like I'm going to be punished by the God's...I have read all the posts on how to stop this terrible thing and I'm going to stick with it. I just need to figure out how to appologize

It kind of concerns me how seriously you are taking this and how terrible you think masturbation is. It sounds to me like this going to do more harm than good with the apparent way you are taking this. Do you really feel like you have to apologize to the gods because you masturbate?

If you're going to stop fapping, you probably need to take a more positive outlook on this, it isn't an evil action. Perhaps, instead of looking at it as a negative action to feel guilty about, look at it as a natural impulse to rise above. Simply choose to use that energy in a more productive way. You aren't bad for doing it, but you can exercise self-control if you choose. No need to beat yourself up for beating yourself off  (couldn't resist the pun)

The universe is so vast, do you really think that all-powerful gods take one kid's masturbation to be of incredible importance in the scheme of things?

"The USA is probably about to take military action in a country that may have used chemical weapons in its own people! but uh-oh, some hormonally charged kids are wasting seed over here!"

Not to mention that your brain hasn't even fully developed yet and, as a result, you have not yet reached your full capacity to make decisions and control behaviour, nor will you have reached that full capacity until you are about 25 years old. Add on top of that the fact that, through no fault of your own, you are in a highly hormonal period of physical develoupment.

If this unfortunate coincidence of develoupmental phases is causing you to sin, blame the gods who created you in a way that they find sinful. Do you really think the gods are that irrational?

Which religion are you? I'm assuming you aren't a Hindu?

I moved through Hinduism earlier during my seeking, Siva has really stuck with me though, and I am currently situated between Buddhism and Taoism. I would say I lean mostly towards the Zen thing, I took my layman ordination to practice in the Soto tradition. I try to keep it simple and naturalistic.

Very interesting, I wish you the best. I'm happy that Lord Shiva has stuck with you :)

Thanks :) . Yeah, i've always been had an attraction to Shiva and, whatever he is, he has stuck with me even though I dont really practice any deities.

Personally, I find nothing wrong with masturbation. Why?

A.) For many people it feels good.

B.) It actually has great medical benefits, such as a lower chance for prostate cancer in men.

However, if you wish to stop, find something else to occupy your mind. Read a book, watch a movie, go for a walk, post on RF :D

I know this seems over-simplified, but that is the best I can think of.

from a buddhistic perspective, feeling good doesn't determine what is a right thing to do.
