Nope, you're still wrong
That's "you're"

 where did i say that? You are still assuming Adam and Eve understood the consequence fully.
They did not.
they didn't know the difference between good and evilthey wouldn't be able to understand the warning anyway.
knowing obedience was a good thing or that disobedience was a bad thing was contingent upon the knowledge of good and evil
did they die after eating the fruit? :no:They understood dying.
Man was created on Day Six....went forth became fruitful...multiplied....
and died as we do now.
so again here is a conundrum you set your self up for...Now the next question should be...did they understand dying as in....
spiritual?
I don't think so...not having partaken of the tree of life.

why would god say you will surely die knowing they didn't understand what he meant?
If Adam had not sinned, would he eventually have gone to heaven?
According to my understanding, death wasn't around until Adam sinned. It seems as though it was intended for him to stay in the garden forever. Although God knew exactly what would happen (being omniscient) and did it anyway
Nay.
Man was created as a species...Day Six.
Death is part of that existence.
The Garden event is a manipulation to alter the finality of that existence.
Spiritual life became a possibility.
Quote for the part in bold please

that's funny...
there is no mention of that in the genesis account...
you saidI'm not confused.
Apparently you got lost.
You are still assuming Adam and Eve understood the consequence fully.

Your lack of belief in life after death, stymies your progress in this thread.
To have eternal life....you must die.
To walk in grace in the next life....you need to know what is good and what is evil.
Tree of knowledge first....tree of life ....later on.
Well, there has to be something preventing you from agreeing with him.my lack of belief has nothing to do with this....
Common sense.
As a species, individuals die.
Man as a species...Day Six.
Death was already here....Day Six.
God also said his creation was good. Not to mention that Romans 5:12 implies that sin brought death into the world. Common sense just isn't a convincing enough counter argument I'm afraid.
I'm not a big fan of Paul....but for this moment...
Sin in this world causes death?...sure it does.
But not physical death....spiritual death.
You can be counted as dead...before your last breath.
I'm not a big fan of Paul or the OT.
Sin causes both according to Romans 5:12
For the immediate response....yeah....it seems so.
Live a sinful life and die in sin....die in spirit.
One follows the other.
But going back to Genesis.....the word 'sin' does not appear in my copy until Chapter 4.
By then the focus of the text is on Cain and Abel.
Would you then be willing to say....
Sin is the acquisition of knowledge?...in particular....knowing good from evil.
