I believe in God because when I needed Him*, He was there. And has been ever since. His rod and his staff, they comfort me.

Please show me where I said or even implied that.No. Religious are not the only ones with a sense of morality.
I believe in God because of the Messengers of God, mainly because of Baha'u'llah, but also the other Messengers. If you believe in a god or don't believe in a god.....
What is your number one reason, the main reason, for doing either?(one or the other)
What would actually be evidence for God if it was there?Evidence as in being actually there.
*WINNER*Do you mean evidence as the same for all humans or evidence as you use it?
Aside from a super advanced alien? What would actually be evidence for God if it was there?
IOW, what would you expect to see if the evidence was there?
Why do you think that would be evidence of God?Aside from a super advanced alien?
Yes, I am sure that God would know how to convince you if God wanted to, but since He hasn't that tells me that He does not want toI figure a god itself would know how to convince me assuming for sake of argument there is one.
I don't think that is going to happen at all since I believe God wants us to convince ourselves, or not, whichever may be the case.I don't expect something like that to happen anytime soon.
I don't believe in god(s) because I don't know what that is. And obviously nobody else does, either. If you believe in a god or don't believe in a god.....
What is your number one reason, the main reason, for doing either?(one or the other)
I don't believe in 'god(s)' because I don't know what that is, but I believe in 'God' because I know what that is.I don't believe in god(s) because I don't know what that is. And obviously nobody else does, either.
You think you know. Many do. But when questioned they never come up with a useful definition. They don't agree and they can't agree because there is no epistemology on how to know what a god is.I don't believe in 'god(s)' because I don't know what that is, but I believe in 'God' because I know what that is.
I do not know much about what God is but I have a definition that works for me to know what I can know and what I need to know. You think you know. Many do. But when questioned they never come up with a useful definition.
Thats pretty much the evidence there is no God actually, as first possibility is going to be an immensely advanced alien first. Why do you think that would be evidence of God?

Since childhood I have had a growing desire and have felt a calling. If you believe in a god or don't believe in a god.....
What is your number one reason, the main reason, for doing either?(one or the other)
Why would God want to convince atheists that He exists?Saying a god dosent want to, is actually a personal statement of convenience and saving face.
Why do you think anyone would ever be able to see God, if God existed? It's more honest for a theist to think there is, maybe a god, rather than state there is a god in light of the fact no god in reality actually exists to speak of for people to see, save for the imaginary conceptualized one inside the brain.
Why do you think there would be convincing empirical examples of the paranormal if God exists? For an atheist, simply being someone without gods is an honest statement along with acknowledging and pointing out there are no convincing empirical examples of the paranormal that even remotely suggest there is a god, or even the possibility of a god in the first place.
Let's put it into perspective. Why would God want to convince atheists that He exists?
Why would it be a personal statement of convenience and saving face if God didn't want to convince you?

That's true and it is a good analogy.Let's put it into perspective.
It's more convincing if a real hammer was dropped on your foot as opposed to someone dropping their imaginary one on your foot.
When I think of paranormal, I think first of oxygen, which we can't see. but know in the sense of proof and belief that it's there. I believe scientists may try to explain how oxygen came about by physical or natural means, and who knows, they may be right, nevertheless it is still unnatural in the sense that it is beyond our human minds to really understand. That's what I think.Thats pretty much the evidence there is no God actually, as first possibility is going to be an immensely advanced alien first.

That is a fair answer. It is a hard thing to discuss something when nobody knows what they are discussing. You think you know. Many do. But when questioned they never come up with a useful definition. They don't agree and they can't agree because there is no epistemology on how to know what a god is.
