Really?
I wouldn't have thought so.
I'll bet she has. She just didn't do it in public, where people like you might get the vapors.

I'm fine with the word. It's just a word after all. Sticks and stones and all. But some people just can't handle it. /Shrug

Milo is a hero of mine. When I grow up I wanna be a Milo.
Does that surprise you? I bet it doesn't.
Tom

Actually it does. But I can't say I blame you. Everyone either wants to be Milo or be with Milo! :p

Years ago, my sister told me a definition of the word that I will use to this day.
But not in RF.
It's "people who don't think that the same rules apply to them as everyone else, because their ancestors were slaves and such. Rules like showing up for work on time, doing your work well, and getting along with your coworkers. If your boss calls you out for breaking those rules, you are a victim of racism.

That actually made me cringe. I'd rather hear the naughty word than read that definiton again.

I'm shocked not many people said the Mexicans but oh well I guess. I voted yes but only because I conflated ethnicity with culture as well. This can be arguable as culture does produce action unlike ethnicity.

I voted yes, because putting the blame for the **** sandwich we all take a bite of on one ethnic group is plainly wrong, its happened before and common knowledge.

Nothing wrong with wanting more mix children. Had he said it as so nobody would have said anything.

So the problem is he said that exact point, but in a way that displeases you?

This is the problem with much of modern political discussion. People go out of their way to misinterpret what liberals/conservatives (delete as appropriate) say so they can try to score some cheap political points.

If you want to interpret people's words with bad faith you can find offence in just about anything. I'm pretty confident you find it ridiculous when ultra-pc liberals do this, so why do exactly the same thing?

If people aren't willing to make any attempt to understand what people actually mean with their language and instead prefer to play some game about who can be offended for the most inane reason then we might as well all start making up whatever we like to paint those with different political persuasions as being immoral/degenerate/idiotic/etc.

Then we can all bask in an emotionally comforting bubble of our own creation and tell ourselves how self-righteous we are.

The university agrees with me and fired him. He is a racist end of story. You can thank PC culture for that. That is what brought about his fall.

I also remember someone getting fired for using the word niggardly in a meeting. According to your logic, that makes him a racist, end of story, who deserved his punishment.

It's ironic you are antagonistic to PC culture, yet display exactly the same behaviour yourself - what someone says is not important, it's whether or not someone manufactures offence from it that counts. Victim culture.

Whether it is from the right or left, this victim culture is ridiculous. I just don't get the point of actually trying to be offended by innocuous things. Each to their own I suppose.
