Because he appears to have been satirising a racist trope. So why is it so hard to admit this professor is racist scum then?

Because he appears to have been satirising a racist trope.
It looks fairly obvious. That didn't prevent him from losing his job and credibility. So are you sure about that?
It looks fairly obvious.
Obviously not!
Do you actually believe that he was promoting the idea that he, along with his family, should be killed?
"Sorry mum. I love you and all that but I'm going to ask some black people to kill you as it's for the good of the universe. Hope you don't mind xx"
People need to stop hunting for thing to be offended by.
Self loathing can be a terrible thing.
While liberal guilt certainly exists and creates ridiculous double standards in evaluating certain behaviours, but it tends to stop a long way short of calling for your own family to be exterminated. To be honest, it tends to stop at PC virtue signalling as, for example, he didn't give up his academic position to a minority candidate because he deemed himself to be the beneficiary of "white privilege".
Still can't believe anyone who is aware or the common meaning of 'white genocide' would see his comment as being a literal call for his own death, rather than PC virtue signalling.
Or calling out a double standard. (See thread tags )
He basically said the world needs more mixed race children.
If you want to highlight them, it's not difficult to find double standards regarding speech about whites/non-whites. Why is this a particularly egregious case?
One of the problems I am having with you snowflakes, who can't seem to recognize snark, is this.Because he was a college professor.
Nothing wrong with wanting more mix children. Had he said it as so nobody would have said anything.
One of the problems I am having with you snowflakes, who can't seem to recognize snark, is this.
He posted this in what was referred to as a "private" Twitter account. I don't know much about such social media, so maybe I am the one who doesn't get it. But this sounds a lot like someone deliberately taking his opinions out of context. The fact is that lots of people do have a big problem with biracial children, and refer to people having them as "white genocide".
Those seem to be the problematic people to me, not the professor or his snarky idiom.

I can say whatever I want, because I am gay. So if you say anything I don't like you are a homophobic bigot.Easy now Tom you can't use that "S" word. It's naughty, bad Tom, go to the corner!

Tom
Sure. Do many advocate that, though?Either way, those that advocate for "an end to whiteness" are disgusting bigots.
Google Rachel Dolezal for more information. What if I identify as a African American, even though I am white? That mean I can go around saying the "Naughty" word!?!
Google Rachel Dolezal for more information.
But feel free to identify as gay. I'll back you up.

Really?I know her. I don't think she ever said the naughty word though.
Milo is a hero of mine. When I grow up I wanna be a Milo. You should google Milo Yillanpolous. He married a black guy and still is considered a white supremacist. So I am not quite so sure you can get away with anything!
