Iran to whip dog owners

It's okay, his point was that a county does not define or represent Islam completely. Governments are humans too and they could come up with their own laws according to their own understanding.

I don't think he meant any disrespect.

I know governments can make mistakes but this is no mistake as it is not a law. The article on Islamophobic-Iranophobic website says that it was just a suggestion which I think is PARTLY necessary [i.e. ban on walking dogs in the streets where children can get frightened; having dogs in a neighbourhood which causes dirt and noise, etc. Plus, in a country where the imperialist-hegemonic powers surrounds (via invasions, millitary bases) and targets (via global sanctions), I don't think youth should waste their time by spending it with dogs.]. In any case, dog owners should respect to the peace and tranquility of other people. If not, then there has to be laws against it. However, if their owning dogs, does not disturb the people (i.e. in the countryside, etc.) then surely they can have dogs and do whatever they want. And Islam suggests it in such cases, for security reasons, hunting, and etc.

But it must be noted that, there is no such laws in Iran. Again, the Islamophobic-Iranophobic website says that it was suggested. And if it was, then it is a good thing. Because, though such a thing won't be approved by the Government of Islamic Iran (as it would be against the religion of Islam), it will let the Iranian people have the opportunity to focus on such subjects and discuss them. And it is a good thing because more people would be thinking-talking about them and they can become more vigilant.

HOWEVER, that member's point was not as you claimed. Because you now can see his point-post clearly where he calls the Iranian President (thus the nation who chose him) an idiot! Are people allowed to do that on this forum? What kind of a website is this?! When people talk against American regime and its allies (Israel, Turkey, Qatar, Bahrain, Saudi, etc.) in such a manner, their posts are deleted due to the rules! But when it is about Islamic Iran and others, let them swear? Right?

In any case, he showed what is in his heart by even not understanding that it is not a law in Islamic Iran yet calling it a "s h i t" and Iranian president "an idiot" because he thinks this is a law in Islamic Iran!

And I don't understand such people really! People who criticize Islamic Iran and who do that by alleged things, do not realize what is going on in their own lands! The unacceptable laws! The treasons! The warmongering! Invasions! State sponsored terrorism! etc. Yet, they would criticize whatever country their own regimes and media want them to criticize. And I think the main reason behind this blindness is RACISM (fueled by envy), and there are other reasons such as sectarianism. And I hope we are cured from those illnesses. Amen.

I agree......
And I would like to learn more about the position in Iran about dogs. Apparently working dogs are accepted and respected in Iran, but most Iranians do not want to see dogs running around in public places, and since there may very well be a dog taboo caused by rabies and other infections, we gotta respect their laws about dogs and dog use.
My once daughter-in-law's fiancee died within two days of being nipped by his own dog whilst separating it from a dog-fight. Sepsis. Maybe this is more common in the middle-east.

..... Cool. They might as well breed big cats and sell them for family pets.
Your Lion might jump over our fence.... we're frightened of it!
Rubbish. It's a darling with our kiddies....... It's harmless.
Lions can kill people, for Chrissakes!
It's not the Lions, it's the owners! We don't listen to alarmist rubbish about lions!
You're joking! Don't you let that thing out on its own again!
Huh! Duh! You're just anti-lion! :D :)

Sorry to know about your relative :(

Not sure about Iran, but here in Saudi Arabia we have some bread of dogs that come in seldom occasions on the streets and they are really harmless and friendly probably by nature because I've come across some. Dunno the English name of the bread, but it looks like this:

There are no laws that I'm aware of for these dogs. They were originally used for hunting along with Arabic falcons. As for protection, all I've known about it was their loud barking noise to alter the owners. I've also heard of some rabies talk, but it was not in a serious scale and .

And dude, lions are cool. It's probably the owner :D

Dunno bro, I tried to give him the benefit of the doubt. People sometimes say what they do not mean. I didn't claim anything, I just thought I'd seek the good in people instead of the bad.

This is how I am; naive :)

Typical Islamic denialism of the brutality of whipping dog owners. Dogs are one of the most beautiful creatures, I feel sorry for you Muslims who can never own or love one. A cat has nothing on the love and loyalty of a dog.
Are you aware of what country most Saluki Breeders are in?

You really need to stop talking nonsense. Lions are not a domesticated species and therefore should never be kept as pets. They're wild animals. All dogs were bred and domesticated by humans to be our companions and helpers. So all dogs, when properly cared for, are great companion animals. Yes, that includes pits!

Ridiculous. What is this apparent phobia that some cultures have towards dogs? I don't understand it at all. Are there not that many dogs in the Middle East? What the hell?

I believe my Brother Matemkar, was pointing our It is not a law. Some one in Iran suggested it to be one, but it never passed and was not make a law.

Oh my God. Pit bulls were not bred to be mankind's cuddly companions. Pit bulls later on fought in pits until they were killed, or had killed. They're instinctive killers initially bred over hundreds of years to kill bulls, bears, and later to fight dogs. They are living weapons, basically.

And from time to time they turn on people and won't stop....... they don't stop. Once they have imprinted upon a target victim........ no more cuddles! A bit like Russian Roulette, just with more chambers..

The pit bull is not some demon from Hell. Geez. You are being hysterical and irrational. The breed has had a long and varied history where they had multiple uses. Your nasty rhetoric is leading to people wanting to kill the peaceful companion animals of responsible owners simply because of what breed they are. How in the world can you think that's okay? Get a grip!

Will you please go educate yourself instead of spouting the same ol' bulls--t?

No I'm not, I'm sitting quietly and enjoying a mug of tea.

Errr..... like killing dogs in Warfare? Here is a quote from one of your web-sites :- Molossi tribe, a group of people who lived in ancient Greece and favored the use of robust, muscular dogs in warfare.

Nasty Rhetoric? I just explained why pit-bulls are called pit-bulls. Folks would bet on dogs, and then put 'em in a pit. They'd fight to the death. Simple. Rhetoric? Nah!
How in the world can you think that's okay? Get a grip!
I'm gripping....... I'm gripping my tea-mug tightly, and it don't make a difference. Pit-Bulls are schizophrenic killers. If you keep badgering me I'll start printing the injury stats for various years........ they're even more frightening that the death-stats already printed for one year.

Will you please go educate yourself..............................?
I did. I got 8 GCE levels and 13 professional qualifications.

Oh....... and I studied the Guard Dogs Act 1975 and recent additions preparatory to delivering training to security ops for a national security company.......... and No! Pit Bulls aren't even suitable for legal guard dog use in the UK!

Oh..... and I can tell you more about medical assistance dogs than you can tell me, and guide dogs, and hearing dogs, and canine partners.... :)

Now....... since you insulted me........ would you like to list your educational qualifications for us? Please include any that you gained in the area of canine studies.

Don't play dumb with me. You know what I mean by educating yourself. Educate yourself on this subject. Go read. Start with the HuffPost article I linked. I'm not interested in your hysterical and ridiculous rhetoric. You're not winning anyone over with that mess. I'm not the only one who has pointed out your crap on this thread, either. I don't appreciate you trying to demonize an entire type of dog. It's disgusting, ignorant, irrational, genocidal and just flat out nasty. It ignores that every dog is individual with its own unique personality, likes, dislikes and interests. Dogs do not share a hive mind. No "higher" animals do.

You can go ahead and spam this thread with your useless numbers all you want. I'm not reading them and I'll bet that no one else is, either.

No. "Pit bull" is actually used as a blanket term for a certain type of dog. There's a lot of confusion over what a pit bull actually is in some quarters. Which makes anti-pit bull legislation all the more dangerous, unfair and unethical.

What is a Pit Bull?

Cool!

When I Google image searched for pit-bull, some results showed bulldogs. I thought at least maybe bulldog is a sub-bread of it.
