The scary thing is that many Americans support these practices, as we have developed a real lust for maximum violence and retribution for any crime in this country. We even have citizens stockpiling guns and carrying them around in the hope of dispensing maximum "justice" to anyone that dares to infringe their rights in any way.

Yeah, there are 'patriot' militias patrolling the border right now as I type this. They're vigilantes, which isn't an antidote for anything.

But once all this weaponry is there, the inclination to use it becomes far more likely. And who will be making that call? Corrupt politicians, is who.

I agree partly here. Psychologically, once police gear up for battle, they're amped for battle. They're more likely to escalate rather than de-escalate. But I don't think politicians make the call, I think police make that call.

Here's the problem....they are a target.
(Just less at risk than some others.)
They just haven't drawn the short straw yet.

You're off track again.

Here's an interesting case, wherein a cop gives an
unlawful order (requiring ID of an innocent passenger
in a car). Passenger refuses, as is his right. Cop
threatens to arrest him for resisting arrest.
Notice how the arrest is predicated not on anything
the man has done, but upon the pretext that he will
resist arrest.
That's just the tip of the iceberg in these cops'
mis-statement of the law, & attempts to coerce
compliance with unlawful orders. The video
provides full analysis & case law.

I saw this video. And the cops called for a drug sniffing dog? For what reason? Oh yeah, black guys.

The driver had a completely reasonable explanation and the cops were way off base. I hope their federal lawsuit pays out and the cops fired. They were way out of line. What gets me is the cops seem to have learned to stay cool while on camera, but still violate civil rights as if no one will suspect them of a violation because it didn't get physical. No way this would happen with white people.

I have no clue. Her being liberal and about reform I suspect she would oppose the police overreach.

If it is happening we would see these videos. The only videos I have seen where drug dogs were called by otherwise compliant people were black. I've looked for videos where it happens to a white person just so I can see some objectivity. I haven't seen one. Maybe you have.

I searched for "K9 drug".
This turned up first.
Notice that he's white.
