Is being gay a sin according to your religion?

I know how pervasive it is. Many straight men think that the world revolves around their sexual appetites and oppress or marginalize others that fall outside of that.

It really angers me to no end. This particular double-standard always has. (Granted, as an egalitarian, all double-standards bother me.) This one just "hits a little closer to home," I suppose.

Same. It's sexist and homophobic. It's also incredibly annoying because it's so entrenched in our culture and is shoved down our throats in media.

That article is disgusting, too. The BDSM article is quite revealing, however. Lmao.

Actually, that site is pretty hilarious. Lol!

Love is determined by whether or not your chromosomes are different than your partner's?

I believe (Agape) love is doing what is good for a person. I believe that is an act of the will and not chromosomes.

I believe the definition of love as sex doesn't require a gender but then the reality is that it isn't really love but is sex.

I believe another definition of love is affection and that does not require gender or sex but I still view it as affection and not love.

Sin doesn't exist. "Sin" is a scare tactic and control mechanism that religionists invented to scare everyone into conforming to a made up set of standards. I prefer "Saint" George Carlin's system of morality. "Don't kill me, and don't take my sh**."

I believe I would call that a transgression. For instance in our country people don't stand very close when speaking but in foreign countries they do but we would consider it a transgression if they did.

I believe in it so it does exist. As Paul said one considers something a sin another doesn't, let each be convinced in his own mind. However in the end the sin is not allowing God to be Lord. He is the one with the power to decide a persons fate based on His definition of sin.

As I said in another thread....

I think that way too many people think away too much about gay people having sex if you ask me. Whenever sexual immorality is mentioned there are certain people who automatically think gay and lesbian sex.

You know what I think? I think you should ask yourself why you think about it so much lol.

I honestly don't know much about it. I know it's not for me, but I totally respect it as a valid religion. I'd like to learn more about it.

Homosexuality was not regarded by the Viking peoples as being evil, perverted, innately against the laws of nature or any of the other baggage about the concept that Christian belief has provided Western culture. Rather, it was felt that a man who subjected himself to another in sexual affairs would do the same in other areas, being a follower rather than a leader, and allowing others to do his thinking or fighting for him. Thus, homosexual sex was not what was condemned, but rather the failure to stand for one's self and make one's own decisions, to fight one's own fights, which went directly against the Nordic ethic of self-reliance. (Sørenson 20).

Their ideas about homosexuality were similar to the Greeks.

homosexuality.
Here is a perspective for you.
This should be fun.

To start i would like to state the obvious.

Is it me or does it seem as if the world runs by putting positive and negative together?
The world is made of opposites and contrast.

Try turning the contrast all the way down or up on your computer.
If you can tolerate that then try this.
Re-wire your house all positive or all negative.
If that works i would like to see it.

My point is that homosexuality is in complete contrast to what seems to work, positive and negative, male and female coming together in harmony to produce something else.

Homosexuality in the world is contrast.

Having said all of that:
I understand that it is a necessary part of life as is every other perspective.
But perspective is just that, perspective, it is not the whole picture.

By "producing something else," I assume you mean a child, correct? If so, are infertile heterosexual couples also a "complete contrast with what seems to work?"

IOW, what you're saying is that "homosexuality is Bizzarro World." :super:

It is not just human beings we are talking about here.
Look around you, the rest of the world runs the same way.

It certainly doesn't seem to fit in with how the rest of the world works.

I have to be clear about this.
Again another paradox.
The world runs on the coming together of opposites and the balance of contrast.
Homosexuality is a necessary part of life.
