Is Bill O'Reilly correct about the African-American culture and race?

You blame violence on minority culture, when white people have just as much if not more violence deeply rooted in their history and culture. Last I checked, dark-skinned gang-bangers in saggy pants didn't initiate the Holocaust or the Crusades... By your flawed (and frankly quite racist) logic, Europe would be a utopia right now. We can all clearly see that's not the case firsthand...

You're so quick to blame rap music for violence, yet completely leave out the fact that white people promote some of the most violent music on the market... Drowning pool? Slipknot? Bullet for my Valentine? Look into every brutal mass murder in American history. How many of the perpetrators were minorities, and how many listened to rap music?

How dare you are put words in my mouth? Who do you think you are to assume what I think? Show me one post where I said anything about white people? You dont even know if I am white or not. The entire problem with the world today is that people act like you. You assume something that is not there just for the fact that some one thinks differently. Again, you are acting like the Al sharptons and Jessie Jacksons of the world, rather than taking on the issue you blame others for racism while that does not fix the issues our society is having.

Obama took on the Trayvon issue for a political gain, and I am the one who is racist? Sharpton and Jackson pursue situations where they can make money rather then to help their community, that is where the problem is, not me.

I am a fan of rap music, I grew up listening to Tupac and Biggie but todays rap music is all about killing and doing drugs, no wonder American high school students are brainless fools.

So you didn't say this?
You can call him what you want but the current culture in US is very violent and a lot of it has to do with RAP music.
I didn't say you said anything about white people, but you do blatantly blame rap music (which is an extremely significant piece of minority culture) for violence in the US. The fact that you go straight to blaming rap specifically, rather than violence in the media in general, tells me not only that you are in fact white, but that you presume minorities to be more capable of violence than white people. Denying that race plays a factor in the extremely lopsided arrest rates is not only willful ignorance, but encourages racist behavior.

Also, if you think Biggie and Tupac didn't glorify violence, you obviously never listened to their music... They rapped about violence a lot more than any current rapper you can name. Rap has actually become progressively less violent over the years. Now most songs are just about partying and sex. Nobody wants to hear about how "gangsta" somebody is anymore; they're more interested in hearing about how rich they are and the ridiculous things they can do with that money. Name 1 rap song currently on the top 40 chart that glorifies violence...

Do I believe O'Reilly?
Yes but it began before that. It started when desegregation started,
not caused by desegregation itself, but by the way it was done and all that came with it. The destruction of the black family had a cause, it didn't just happen. It wasn't caused by the white race either, even though a lot of white politicians had a hand in it.
Like everything the Government touches, it screws up.

As a metalhead, whose choice in music is often viewed as immature, many times used as evidence in violent crimes, is believed to turn people into violent, blood thirsty monsters, and by some is seen as a sign of mental illness/disturbance, I find that bit about rap to be offensive. You probably don't realize it, but it doesn't matter if it's country, rock 'n roll, metal, or rap, they all pretty much sing about the same things (sex, drugs, life's struggles, having a good time, etc.), the key difference though is the culture it comes from. A death metal artist from Norway probably isn't going to sing about gang violence because it is probably something that individual has not experienced, but a rap artist probably isn't going to sing about viking conquests because that is not a part of where that person came from. There are even quite a few lyrical parallels between Eminem and Marilyn Manson, two artist who are widely and generally misunderstood and misrepresented, but two entirely different genres.

Actually, it started WAY before desegregation. Desegregation was just another small step towards racial equality, and certainly is not to blame for any problems faced by the black community today.

In my personal experience, coffee is just not addictive. I may be convinced otherwise; less likely things happened.
Coffee, which is loaded with caffeine, is indeed addictive and potentially destructive.
Health effects of caffeine - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Negative effects

  • Caffeine can increase blood pressure in non-habitual consumers.[20] High blood pressure is associated with an increase in strokes, and cerebral vascular disease, which in turn increase the risk of multi-infarct dementia.[20]
  • Caffeine may reduce control of fine motor movements (e.g., producing shaky hands)[11]
  • Caffeine can increase cortisol secretion, some tolerance is developed.[21]
  • Caffeine can contribute to increased insomnia and sleep latency.[11]
  • Caffeine is addictive.[11] Caffeine withdrawal can produce headache, fatigue and decreased alertness.
  • High doses of caffeine (300 mg or higher) can cause anxiety.[11]
  • High caffeine consumption has been linked to an increase in the likelihood of experiencing auditory hallucinations.[22]
  • High caffeine consumption accelerates bone loss at the spine in elderly postmenopausal women.[23]

Caffeine also has negative health effects:

  • There is a significant association between drinking caffeinated coffee and the decrease of bone mineral density, which leads to osteoporosis.
  • The daily consumption of caffeinated drinks can increase blood sugar levels and cause problems for people with diabetes.
  • Caffeine is a diuretic and can cause dehydration.
  • Caffeine can prevent some from falling asleep and interferes with deep sleep, which can lead to fatigue during the day.
But most are oblivious to this because caffeine is the most widely used and abused drug.

As for O'Reilly, I x-ed out of the page after about two minutes, when he began to insist "conversations" about race go no where, and that a black man has no clue about solving black problems as if he as a white man does.

You honestly believe that Obama (who has a white mother) is racist against anyone who isn't black? What evidence even remotely supports that statement?

His actions proves racism. His history is racist. He chose racism.
"The Church of God IN Christ" 20 years under the bitter racist rantings of Rev. Wright.
The biggest race baiter today, Al Sharpton, has visited the whit House more than the Secretary of State.
His Regime drops Voter Intimidation charges against Black thugs who were intimidating white voters at the polls. There's much more, but if you haven't seen it yet, you're blind by choice.
When Lewis Gates was caught breaking into his house by the Police, Gates refused to show ID, started cursing and screaming at the Police who did the right thing and arrested the racist Gates. Obama said, I don't know anything about the case but the Police acted stupidly". Obama acted n his racism.
Maybe you had better go look in the mirror for racism! Water does seek it's own level.

This is ridiculous.....He has a black father and a white mother and many of his friends growing up were white....

Wright's comments were his own and Obama denounced the rhetoric.

It's the people's government. Should he not be allowed to visit or attend when requested? Given the massive effort by republicans to block the vote and their current gutting of the Voting Rights Act I think he should visit the White House to lobby for change. Visiting the White House doesn't always mean you get to sit and chat with the POTUS either... nor does it mean your pupose for going there is to meet with the president. And who, but you, cares if someone is going there more than the Secretary Of State? Do you not realize that they have secure phone conferences and the SoS doesn't actually have to go to the White House to meet with the president?

What voter intimidation? From what I can tell there were guys standing outside and everyone that showed up to vote..voted. I'm not even sure those guys had any contact with the voters. You want to know what "voter intimidation" is? Try looking into organizations such as (True The Vote)....They have no authority yet they're "poll watching" and intimidating voters.

Yeah.....this is "real voter intimidation"..and not what you cite.

Hahah, you have to be kidding. What political gain would the president want to involve himself with the case? His 3rd term? This'll be fun.

Whoa there! We've all seen it, and we've talked about it and we've debunked it. I think you must be blind if you don't watch ABC, NBC, CBS, CNN, CSPAN, etc.

Why shouldn't Gates have been ******? And he really isn't much of a racist. Even got to meet him once. And BTW, Obama resigned from that church.
