Is my Religion Homophobic? In my Religion, we hate homosexuality and love homosexuals.

It is a rhetorical question. I can not destroy my own Religion here. I love my Religion, and I hate homophobia.

And then there's adultery-phobia, gambling-phobia, murder-phobia, polygamy-phobia, narcotics-phobia,
cheating-phobia etc.. We are to love the sinner, hate the sin.

You are not. :)

Also, phobic normally means fear of something.
Phobia - Wikipedia

I don’t think people are really homophobic, because they usually have no such fear. More likely people have strong dislike, for something they think is not good. I think it is wrong to call it a phobia.
Phobia is an irrational fear of OR extreme aversion to. Homophobia is defined as antipathy, hate, fear or aversion to homosexuality. Don’t like being called homophobic? Don’t engage in actions or speak of things that typically fall under the current definition. Or wear it. I don’t care

Is my Religion Homophobic?

If you have to ask the question, the answer is probably "yes".

Homophobia - hatred against homosexuals.

Not just hatred. Also discrimination etc.

It is interesting. So, in a better world there would be less homosexuality, I guess. Tough times, tough sexuality.

No.

Homosexuality is a natural phenomenon which occurs at a rate of about 11% throughout the animal kingdom - not just humans.

I'm not sure you would call it an argument. People who have children understand that we love our child even if we don't like or agree with what they are doing.

What does your religion say should happen to a "man who lies with a man as with a woman"?

Tell me, is there anything your (or anyone else's, for that matter) child could that would make you want to do to that child what your religion prescribes should happen?

No? Then I suggest you don't draw that despicable analogy.

] But what child comes home wanting to paint a picture of a nude man or woman?

What child worships a man that is nailed to a cross?

At least a naked body is beautiful sight. A man nailed to a cross is rather gruesome.

A child paints what he sees and what he knows. Again... as a parent... my first instinct is "who showed you a picture of a nude woman or a nude man

Your kids never walked into the bathroom while you or your wife were taking a shower?
Your kids never saw themselves naked?

I think any normal parent would ask the same question

I wouldn't. I'm quite certain my 5-year old knows very well what a naked man and a naked woman looks like.

In my faith, If a man like with a man as with a woman, you share with him the life and love of Jesus as you would do with someone who lies with the opposite sex and are not married and with him/her who believes in their self-righteousness or robs or lies et al.

As I would do for myself...

So my analogy stands. :)

Jesus is at the right hand of the Father... not on a cross...

There are many gruesome sights, like child sex-slaves.

So, yes, the naked body is a beautiful sight IF, in the right context.

LOL.. they DEFINITELY have seen me on the toilet! :D . (we have a curtain around the tub) But, yes, they did (when they were small) see us naked. However, at the appropriate age, we taught them to respect the privacy and knock on the door before entering in. We also taught them not to let anyone touch their naked body unless it was doctor and we were with them.

I'm just asking for a child-prodigy that painted naked people.

You see, a very young child that sees a naked body sees it in innocence.

I wouldn't. I'm quite certain my 5-year old knows very well what a naked man and a naked woman looks like.
Never said they didn't. ;)

So you would kill them?

The Mosaic Covenant is not my covenant.

I'm in the New Testament Covenant...

So, no, we don't kill people for missing the mark... we pray for people, love on people and share the good news to people.

Your position has one of three possibilities:
  1. You don't understand Christianity
  2. You are relying on what other people say.
  3. or Both
I am happy to answer any of your questions for better understanding.

There are many gruesome sights, like child sex-slaves.

Are they also on display in churches like in the picture above?

I'll let my child look at pictures of naked bodies over the above, any day of the week.

As a matter of fact.... 2 years ago we were in Italy. My then almost-4-year old was obsessed with castles and anything that looked like castles. Like big cathedrals. Strolling around the city of Rome, we off course encountered a cathedral. It's Italy after all............

My son wanted to go inside. Knowing the horrors that would be on display there, I said there was no chance we would enter that building. He got mad. I made up some silly excuse and then went out of my way to find exhibits of gladiators ("knight"-like, catering to his interests). We also went to the Pantheon and other ancient Roman structures like the Colosseum. He loved it all and it was a great day.

If I would have entered that cathedral, I'm 110% positive he wouldn't have slept that night because of nightmares.

So, yes, the naked body is a beautiful sight IF, in the right context.

There is no context where the picture above is a "beautiful" sight.

LOL.. they DEFINITELY have seen me on the toilet! :D . (we have a curtain around the tub) But, yes, they did (when they were small) see us naked. Sheesh. And then people wonder why kids grow up being completely uncomfortable and clueless concerning their bodies and sexuality.

But anyhow........ even in this instance, your children are very much aware of what a naked body looks like.

I'm just asking for a child-prodigy that painted naked people.
You see, a very young child that sees a naked body sees it in innocence.

So? How does that stop them from drawing it or see the beauty in it?
Never said they didn't. ;)

Then your post where you said that you would ask them "who showed you a picture of a nude woman or a nude man" is very bizar.

If you acknowledge that they know what it looks like, how does asking them that question make any sense at all?
