Is my Religion Homophobic? In my Religion, we hate homosexuality and love homosexuals.

That's not a sign he is gay. The best way to know is to ask. Someone can be gay and never been around or intimate with someone if their own sex.

Yes, I know. Though he may have been viewed differently if he'd had 12 women disciples.
The point I was making is that we don't know what Jesus' orientation was. And also that it's irrelevant anyway.

OK change it to
Hate mass murder but love the murderer
:D:D:D

That is what God did for King David and Saul who became Paul

allegedly
Very important, esp. because some people believe "we should act the same as God would act"

Note: Act like God would act is tricky, as you are assuming you know what God would do = blasphemy. This is not on my ToDo list at all

So lust is a "sin" for one sexual orientation, but not for the others?
What utter nonsense.

Lust is the sexual activity outside my Religion. My Religion defines in such a way the word Lust.
Love is a sexual activity within my Religion, according to my Religion definition.

Yes, your religion is homophobic.

Yes, yes it is. The Orthodox Church was the stop where I got off the Christianity train. The Church’s views on homosexuality was one of the reasons I didn’t try to reconcile myself to anymore. The hierarchy has made some outlandish comments about homosexuality. The late Archbishop Christodoulos was a notorious homophobe. The patriarchs of the Russian Church have been no less so.

While I could be a member of the Church, I could not participate in the sacraments, namely Holy Communion. Unless I left my partner and live an essentially monastic life, in effect, I excommunicated myself.

People who have children understand that we love our children even if we don't like or agree with what they are doing.
But if your kids could demonstrate to you that the thing they were doing that you just "have to hate" literally does not hurt you in any way, and that what they are doing also involves loving and being loved by another person, then I feel that [your child] is completely justified in telling you that you are out of your mind, and that they don't care, at all, what your opinion is about what they are doing. And then you can go cry in a corner about how you are being persecuted while the rest of us shake our heads and hope that future generations are a little more emotionally stable.

Unfortunately, majority of christians would find that relevant because they believe homosexuality is about actions. Since the bible doesn't mention he had sex, they assume if he did it would be with a woman and that is how he would be straight. Many gay people have been in bed with the opposite sex but still gay, so I feel the christian worldview is misguided when it comes to sexual orientation and attraction and judging people based on these things by their behaviors and not how the person sees themselves apart from any behaviors "gay or straight."

If the old definition is anti-religious, then for the sake of peace and safety it should be rewritten.
I suggest following politically correct definition:

Homophobia - hatred against homosexuals.....

You are not. :)

Also, phobic normally means fear of something.
Phobia - Wikipedia

I don’t think people are really homophobic, because they usually have no such fear. More likely people have strong dislike, for something they think is not good. I think it is wrong to call it a phobia.

This song below "Sandra: Maria Magdalena" teaches how to hate the sin (Lust) but love sinner:

"A recent Otago University study has found that homosexual or bisexual individuals are more likely to have undergone a variety of traumas in childhood, including sexual assault, rape, violence, and witnessing violence in the home." (2010)

Study: Homosexuality Linked with Childhood Trauma

It is interesting. So, in a better world there would be less homosexuality, I guess. Tough times, tough sexuality.

I extend a warm welcome of the Religious Forum to all homosexuals and non-homosexuals....this is the Christian way.

God loves all of his children. God loved the Jews in Hitler's torture camps (they were his chose people). It begs the question...."could you choose someone else to love for a change?"

Modern Christians have taken the huge bible, ignored issues like divorce, theft, etc., then focused on those few lines that frown on homosexuality. God says that only he is judge. Jesus's Sermon on the Mount said "judge not lest ye be judged." That means that humans are not supposed to judge Gays. They should, however, love everyone, just as God does.

You'd better say that God is loving (or he'll smite you).

It is a Christian's duty to be warm and inviting to everyone.

What would heaven be like if it was filled with judgemental mean people? Like earth?
