Is Science Better Than Religion?

What was the problem? Reading the exchange again I was polite, on topic and perfectly rational. The point that atheism makes no scientific claims remains apparently lost to you. I stand by everything I said and am happy to clarify whatever has confused you.
It was a waste of time then....and a waste of time now...and so that's closure...

I think that is a purely subjective thing. Is coke better than the color orange? Neither really have anything to do with one another. But if we put a specific quality up for game then we can determine it. How about...improving lives? And the qualities that we use to determine that is general happiness, quality of life and health. Religion doesn't necessarily do any of those things on a large scale. In fact its hard to find any real statistical evidence that religion is responsible for any improvement in these areas. Science however does. Science and its improvements are pretty undeniable I would say.

Is Science Better Than Religion?
If one want to reside in World, than Science is Better.
If one is interested in immigrating to No-World / No-Time, than Religion is Better.

Religion means re-union with.. from where we all started the journey of life in the beginning.

All it depends on where one want to reside. :)

Really? Suppose someone has lost their legs. You ask them: We can give you new prosthetic legs, or we can pray that your legs grow back.' Which option are they going to go for?
Why can't victim THANK-GOD for giving him the option of prosthetic leg ? :)

I agree. And my subjective opinion is that science is better. But beyond opinion we need to have a specific race to run. I think that science wins out in pretty much all categories but without defined categories of what is "good" then we can't say it without being subjective. What if someone's concept of good is "spreading the word of god". Obviously religion is better at that than science. It doesn't make it an objective good for mankind however.

Well if science demonstrates how God did it.....
and a creation is a reflection of it's Creator....
science can introduce you.....to God.

Is Science Better Than Religion?

One of our friends had noted in another thread:
“Asking a religious/spiritual question from science is like trying to analyze Shakespeare’s Hamlet by the principles of geology”.
Science is not designed to solve the spiritual and religious issues.
Science and religion both are useful for human beings in their domains.

That's right YOUR proof.

No one else's. Which defines it as belief not proof
Don't be sour grapes...you will find your subjective proof eventually...in the mean time....carry on clinging to illusionary conceptual reality like a true atheist....

Not really....are you not aware that objective reality is merely a conceptual interpretation of reality.......subjective reality on the other hand is a real experience for the individual...

One does not need an adjective to describe reality. Reality describes itself properly without any further description.

One's perception of reality can never be relied on. That's why in science, as you know and from our previous discussions, we have tools that measure reality indiscriminately. Tools to measure mass, speed, lengths, direction, volume, time... Then we clearly define the potential errors in each tool with a range of precision. Science is clear on this. Religion is not. When two different entities at different locations and times measure their realities with these tools, the science will suggest that it will follow very strict one-to-one correlations otherwise known as laws and theories. There are cases of probabilities as defined in Quantum Mechanics, but over and over, each subsequent tests produce the same known results.

This precision is absolutely needed in today's technologies from computers to vehicles to architecture.

Back to the OP...
Suggest a specific goal and one can better answer if science or religion is better.

* Is it to measure the carbon dioxide amount in our atmosphere? -> Science
* Develop a smaller die process for next generation computing devices that generates less heat and consume less energy? -> Science
* Develop transportation that is not dependent on fossil fue? -> Science
* How to deal with your day-to-day stress and conflicts? -> For some religion. For others, a mix of mental exercises and perspective control...

I am amazed that your phrasing did not cause you to trip on your tongue. Really, "objective reality is merely a conceptual interpretation of reality.......subjective reality on the other hand is a real experience for the individual"? I think you mean, "... subjective reality on the other hand is a real experience to the individual."
I meant for the individual....
