It's an analogy Rick. As the sub-prime meltdown is to one bankruptcy, so is the moral decrepitude of the whole right wing to just plain moral decrepitude.

Hmmmm, you make me think Francine.

Sooooo, if a family that could have qualified for a fixed interest rate loan, decided to enjoy a temporary lower house payment and jeopardise their home ownership in the future because of it, or they bought more home than they could afford because the temporary lower payment was all they could afford at the time, shows poor financial judgement or possibly predatory lending practices and bad advice on the loan brokers part. Bottom line, they exercised poor judgement that lead to their own peril.

Sooooo, the far right is exercising poor judgment to their own peril as well?

If so, is there anyone leading them astray like the loan brokers might have?

It was poor judgment to squander the good will of the whole world for America after 9-11 by invading Iraq without a valid casus belli. It was poor judgment to do nothing while the entire city of New Orleans was wiped off the face of the Earth. It was poor judgment to turn the USA into a country that tortures people. It was poor judgment to fire 9 US Attorneys for purely political reasons, to "lose" millions of emails, to reveal that Valerie Plame was a CIA covert agent, to do warrantless wiretaps of thousands of Americans, some merely for being political dissidents, to put Ted Kennedy on the no fly list, to question the right of African American soldiers to vote simply because he wasn't at his address of record but on deployment in Iraq, to let veterans languish in third-world hospital conditions at Walter Reed, to send troops into combat without the armor they need to survive, etc, etc, ad infinitum, ad nauseum.

If so, is there anyone leading them astray like the loan brokers might have?

Dang girl, when you put it THAT way, it's no wonder I am so pissed at this administration! Unfortunately, the self righteous right wingers bend reason and scriptures in their continual justification of their anointed savior: Shrub. They are so busy trying to maintain the status quo that they are BLIND to the abuses and illegalities of the Haliburton War.

How apropos! :D

You know, I watched the Florida Presidential Debate yesterday just before I went to vote. Yeah, yeah, Democrat votes don't count and only Republicans were debating. Still, I got to see Ron Paul for the first time and I was IMPRESSED. He may get my vote if he wins. He and Mitt were the ONLY ones to answer "Are you going to run on the Republican's legacy for the past 8 years". However, Mitt was way to smarmy for me. Hukabee was a huckleberry, McCain is now Bush's Bitch. Giuliani is a buffoon who thinks way to highly of himself. Did I miss anyone?

In reality, except for Paul. the entire lot was morally, ethically and personality bankrupt. But I am not sure we can count Paul as part of the "Far Right". He has real principles and seems to abhor those who could be considered as such.
