How long does learning Arabic generally take?

Took me 6 months to grasp it and almost a year to actually get it and I am still working o it now. To understand the classical Arabic of the Qur'an is a whole other issue and may take me 3 years at my pace to learn both traditional and classical

Well it is believed that by knowing the original Arabic of the Qur'an which is a specific dialect. You can preserve the original message of the Qur'an ands its infallibility which is best preserved in its original language. The Bible is not like this hence its many fallacies and errors because of language conversion.
This is correct.

And the Qur'an can be understood in other languages just as well as it is understood in Arabic. Even in Arabic you have to have a deeper knowledge of the language than what most Arabic speaking people have. This is because God puts emphasis on knowledge. He gave us free will so we will not blindly follow other people, especially religious leaders. It is our duty to seek knowledge.

As for the issue of culture you brought up, there is good culture and bad culture. Any part of culture that is sinful would need to be removed, but any part of culture that is not sinful can remain

The issue is that so many countries believe that by imitating Salafiyyah inspired Islam they are being true Muslims not knowing Salafi Muslims are just as culturally biased as they are. It becomes a rat race about "who is more Arab". It seems that people cannot distinguish Arab culture from islamic society.
Most do not know that Arabs do not even make up half of Islam. I am not against Islam in any way but I am against Arabization of countries under the false impression the more Arab you become the more Muslim you are

I'm from the US, so I cannot say that I am truly aware of this Arabization you speak of. Can you give me some examples of what/where?

This does not happen in the US. Mostly in places like South Asia as countries like Indonesia, Malaysia and numerous African countries as well.
Indonesia is trying to imitate Saudi Arabian laws and incorporate lashing and public floggings. Things like this are only done in a certain state though and not widespread.
The Jawi scripture for example is another tempt of arabizing the Indonesian alphabet. Some Indonesians are against the cultural variant of the hijab and chador just because it is not like the Saudi version? In Indonesia it has a little band around the head and is silky white. Somehow this is not Islamic since it does not compare to the black Saudi niqab.

I don't think incorporating lashing and public floggings to be "arabization". But following shariah.

But I do agree with the arabization, or pushingof saudi gear such as niqab.

I agree with Assad here. But you can't blame Islam for that. Islam does not teach us to do this. Blame the people doing it.

Been awhile since I was a Muslim but are there any ahadith that support stoning and lashing for infidelity?
Last that I recall there aren't any floggings for it nor is there stoning.

'Ubada b. as-Samit reported that whenever Allah's Apostle (may peace be upon him) received revelation, he felt its rigour and the complexion of his face changed. One day revelation descended upon him, he felt the same rigour. When it was over and he felt relief, he said:
Take from me. Verily Allah has ordained a way for them (the women who commit fornication),: (When) a married man (commits adultery) with a married woman, and an unmarried male with an unmarried woman, then in case of married (persons) there is (a punishment) of one hundred lashes and then stoning (to death). And in case of unmarried persons, (the punishment) is one hundred lashes and exile for one year.
Sahih Muslim Book 29, Hadith 19

Narrated 'Ubadah bin As-Samit:
"The Messenger of Allah (may peace be upon him) said: 'Take from me. For Allah has a way made for them : For the married person who commits adultery with a married person is one hundred lashes, then stoning. And for the virgin who commits adultery with a virgin is one hundred lashes and banishment for a year."
Jami` at-Tirmidhi 1434 Sahih

‘Ubadah b. al-Samit reported the Messenger of Allah(may peace be upon him) as sayings:
Receive my teachings, receive my teachings. Allah has appointed a way for those women. If the parties have been married, they shall receive a hundred lashes and stoned to death. If the parties are unmarried, they shall receive a hundred lashes and banished for a year.
Sunan Abi Dawud 4415 Sahih
