Jesus died on a Stake or a Cross?

Jesus 4 Profit.... =)~
Because the world understands it to be a cross. History understands it to be a cross. Christianity understsands it to be a cross.
So that makes it a cross right? You can't evn prove it happen much less the device he was strapped to.....

The Bible was not written in English. KJV was translated into English.
In the Greek 'stauros' does not mean a stake with a crosspiece.
In the Greek 'xylon' is also an upright stake without a crossbeam.
Cross was only a later meaning of the Latin word 'crux'.
It was the later inserting of the already existing 'pagan cross concept' [Tau]
that became popular after the end of first-century Christianity.

I am agreeign with you. I do not believe it was originaly inted=nded to be a cross, rather they saw a chance to use a similair symbol to help convert....

When it's all said and done, my point of view is, who cares? If Jesus was crucified on a merry-go-round, I don't think this is essential to my eternal salvation.

Here we call it discussion and debate.
Crying foul when you cannot support your arguments does not help your position at all.

In thre real world, this is where you get your bell rung. This is where the other guy shoves you into a wall or pulls your shirt over your head. In the real world, Internet nerds with large vocabularies are not so fearsome as they are here.

It was probably a cross and not some other ridiculous thing.

Stop harrassing me!

I see. In the real world you react with violence when your unsupported claims are called into question.
How Christ-like of you.

Back to the subject at hand, why is it "probably a Cross" and not one of the more common forms of Roman Crucifixion?

In the "real world" you, a Christian, responds with violence when asked a question?

I didn't say I would, but my patience is limited. I am not a saint. While it's possible that someone might goad me into violence, I'd hang on to my self-discipline as long as I could. Since we're discussing IRL situations, I should let it be known to all that rather than pursue an escalating situation (where probability of violence rises) I would much rather find a way to de-escalate a situation. And if that means backing down or walking away, so be it. I am not a violent person IRL.

As fasr as these online encounters go, physical violence is impossible. Verbal and psychological violence is as far as it can go. I think maybe I should add some RF users to my ignore list to avoid this kind of unpleasantness in the future. Every time, I allow myself to be provoked. And every time, it ruins my enjoyment of the message board so that I find myself having to cancel my membership and find another one. Very frustrating!
