“God the Father” is wrong.
It is “God, the Father” (the comma is important. It denotes a shortcut, in this case:
- ‘who is called‘ and therefore, “God, who is called, The Father”
I have stated this to you before.
It is like:
- ‘Jesus, the Christ’… ‘Jesus who is called, the Christ’
- ‘John, the Baptiser’… ‘John, who is called, the Baptiser / Baptist’
The proper usage defines one person as the title and therefore, in the case of ‘God’, there can only be one: The Father, since there cannot be a:
- ‘God, the Son’ nor ‘God, the Spirit of God’!!
Unfortunately, sloppy, slack English allows the dropping of the comma and thus introduces opportunity for confusion and misinterpretation.
