"Kolibri, post: 4209689, member: 55852"]"because it is in him that all the fullness of the divine quality dwells bodily." - Colossians 2:9

The Greek word the·oʹtes, or "divine quality", does not though make Jesus coequal and coeternal with the Father, any more than the fact that all humans share “humanity” or “human nature” makes them coequal or all the same age.

No one knows what theotetos means. Used the one time in the Bible. This is PENTECOSTAL terminology, how do I know? "Indwelling" or "tabernacling" is of the Holy Spirit, first come to the Jews as the SHEKINAH indwelling of the invisible presence of God. FULLNESS denotes the Anointed One, fully indwelt of the indwelling.

Colossians 1:19 shows that this was not Jesus' decision for this "fullness to dwell in him" but "God was well pleased to have" it so. And really there is no better way for us to learn about Jehovah than by carefully learning all that we can about Jesus because he had been with his heavenly Father since the very beginning of creation. Jesus knows better than anyone else the personality and will of God.

Of course you were thinking ontology of Jesus here, not the indwelling Holy Spirit. SINCE you think not as the Jew thought then.

"Whoever has seen me has seen the Father also." - John 14:9

So then what does this mean if the Father hath never BEEN SEEN, sir? John 4x says it explicitly. Must be some kind of figurative, huh? And not literally FIGURATIVE, huh?

You are right about proofs. I have evidences galore. Want one? Jesus never said he was God? Evidence enough? Actually was compelling to me, when I started my investigation thereof.
How do you know "Jesus never said he was God?" Were you there to hear everything he said?" Give us at least some eyewitness -- and no, the gospel writers weren't eyewitnesses. If you think the gospels are the sum total of everything Jesus said, you're quite wrong. You got nothing. None.

Why would they neglect to say this saying, being one way too explosive not to repeat in oral tradition, writings and epistles?

I think it is said -- just not as explicitly nor in such an in-your-face way as you'd like.

@nothead I am not sure we are understanding each other.

Of course, John 14:9 was figurative. I used it to back up the earlier statement. When we study Jesus, we see the Father's personality in action because Jesus so closely resembles his Father's way of thinking and feeling. We do not literally see the Father with our physical eyes, but our eyes of understanding do see the Father more clearly. Besides the effects of the holy spirit giving power beyond what is normal, besides Jesus being anointed to fill specific roles, he also has the history of being God's longest and most intimate companion that makes him well suited.

If you call "history" thirty years then cool. Somehow though this does not strike me as what you meant. Personality in action is a psychologist's wording, not exactly Judaic.
Also a man doesn't think as God thinks. What was exemplified was that the Spirit sent unto Jesus was fully indwelt by Jesus, and SEEING the Father would be more through him than anything else available. "Show us the Father," also was God exhaustively. Phillip wanted to see God as never before. Not en whole.

how about matthew 4:10

10 Then Jesus said to him: “Go away, Satan! For it is written: ‘It is Jehovah your God you must worship, and it is to him alone you must render sacred service.’”

Not said at all? Want a list I compiled which state the unstated absolute statements of the trin and JisG?
I really don't care what you've compiled. You're not a scholar. I'll stick with people who know what they're talking about. Seems to have served me well thus far.

Aaaaand... this "proves" that Jesus never said he was God.... how, again?

No that is not what I meant. I had in mind more on the order of billions of years. Jesus is "the first-born of all creation." That is before the "big bang." (Ge 1:1) Before all other angels.

Most likely, as Jehovah's chief spokesman or Word, he was the angel of Ex 23:20-23.

Billions or tetracycline gadzillions? No beginning for Jesus would naturally be just that. Jesus' nephesh was born in the womb. No known souls of men were born earlier. Jesus WAS when God determined him, before the world was, get Judaic pre-existence down, be happy.

I'm not interested in quote-mines, so much as I am context. These are all lovely, but they can be interpreted in several different ways and dismissed. But when the context upholds the Deity of Jesus -- that's when we sit up and take notice.
