Why then have you neer seen jesus raise anybody from the dead? It's just taken for granted that it happened from a book of urban legends! How do we know for a fact that the person he raised was dead?

That's where the faith part comes in. Besides, there are many prophecies that prove the Bible to be the inspired word of God.

It's quite possible with deep meditation for a person to slow down their heart rate enough to appear dead!

Interesting. Perhaps you could provide us with the link to an article on this?

Also in another line of thinking, don't people who are found to have been pressumed dead and then burried alive or waking just before an autopsy also prove that it is possible to be pressumed dead but not be dead? Even with the technology that is available today. Also i found this article to be very intriguing!

You are pre-committed in your belief that Jesus was a magician and I don't think that your are going to change your mind, and that no one here can convince you otherwise. Whilst some may try, am I correct?

First, why does it matter? People don't like Jesus becuase of his miracles, they like Jesus becuase of his words and teachings (or at least they should). Why do you feel its important to tell people he didn't perform miracles?
Second, how do you know Jesus performed any kind of magic, fake or otherwise? What if all those stories about him are just folk legends? He might have just been a normal guy like the Buddha.
Third, many of Jesus's miracles cannot be explained via stage tricks. They are either real or just folk legend.
Fourth, you're starting to annoy me.

Ok can anyone give a decent argument that proves flat out that jesus was not a magician? I mean proof beyond blind faith as that really doesn't count! At the end of the day, to God it's not about believing, it's about having an idea! And i have an idea, Jesus was a magician, until somebody proves me wrong!

i may be wrong. But who made you right:confused:

Maybe instead you could, oh I don't know, form a coherent argument? Just a thought.

Until then, I think we should take this thread in an entirely different direction. Let's debate these two questions:
First, why am I so amazing? :D
Second, why are tacos so delicious?

Ok, have at it everyone.

This is not yet fully understood, but our top scientists, philosophers, and cosmic beings are currently pondering the subject.
Second, why are tacos so delicious?
See above answer. :D

Now that the thread is officially hijacked, I'd like to ask you a question.
Where ever did you get your screen name? I'd imagine an undead hooker is a rather..... odd job.:sarcastic

Well, you'll have to do more than just ask to uncover the mysteries of this harlot.:flirt:

Wow, okay. Some people are apparently having problems understanding the difference between real occult magic and the illusion of stage magic. Anything Chris Angel and David Blaine are doing is just an illusion...it's a trick. If you want to argue that Jesus was a real occultist and practiced ritual magic then I'll agree, but that's obviously not all he was. Nobody is defined by one thing alone.

Simon Magus was supposed to be a magician you'll recall and he offered Peter and John money to learn the "trick" of the power of the Holy Spirit. Peter rebuffed him with the words: "May your silver be gone and you with it for thinking that money that money could buy what God has given for nothing."

Read the story in Acts 8:9-25

Seems that more healers could use this advice.

It is interesting that there are very early depictions of Jesus performing many of his miracles with a wand.
