Yes, the whole of the gospel includes all of Jesus' teachings.there is not only 'one' good news.
Jesus spoke of 'everlasting life' and the 'resurrection from the dead' both of which are VERY good news.
He also talked about how to 'love your neighbor' and 'forgiveness'.
Not only that, but he also encouraged all to 'seek first the kingdom' in their life.
He admonished his followers to 'put your sword in its place' and he spoke of 'paying Caesars things to Caesar but Gods things to God'
The Gospel of Good News included instructions on how to preach the kingdom message....taking it from 'door to door and marketplaces'
We know that Christ died and was resurrected, thats elementary.... but what about his many other teachings; Shouldn't the gospel we preach include all of them???
BUT...
When you go door to door, you cannot possibly preach the whole of the gospel.
You must preach what is of first importance, which is:
1 Cor. 15:3-4
3 For what I received I passed on to you as of first importance : that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, 4 that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures,
You must follow the God given examples of Peter, Paul, Philip, and others in the NT, in the way they preached the gospel.
If you're not, then you show everyone that you think more highly of yourself than you do God.
Acts 2
22“Fellow Israelites, listen to this: Jesus of Nazareth was a man accredited by God to you by miracles, wonders and signs, which God did among you through him, as you yourselves know. 23This man was handed over to you by God’s deliberate plan and foreknowledge; and you, with the help of wicked men put him to death by nailing him to the cross. 24 But God raised him from the dead, freeing him from the agony of death, because it was impossible for death to keep its hold on him.
36“Therefore let all Israel be assured of this: God has made this Jesus, whom you crucified, both Lord and Messiah.”
37When the people heard this, they were cut to the heart and said to Peter and the other apostles, “Brothers, what shall we do?”
38 Peter replied, “Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. 39 The promise is for you and your children and for all who are far off—for all whom the Lord our God will call.”
40 With many other words he warned them; and he pleaded with them, “Save yourselves from this corrupt generation.” 41 Those who accepted his message were baptized, and about three thousand were added to their number that day.
This is the gospel of first importance!
