Karma and the Mandate of Heaven

I believe the concept of longevity is a logical fallacy. After all the world believe the earth was flat for a long time.
And- amazingly- some still believe
Genesis is a true account.

Logical fallacies are the least of that one!

I believe however that longevity is not the reason we believe Genesis. And the fact that it has been believed for a long time is not evidence that the belief is correct.

We really can't be without beliefs. There are beliefs without proof we live by, because we have to, believing something one way or another. Beliefs we live by may be from tradition, which is more reliable than what we come up with our own thinking, but this is not at all foolproof. It would be better to examine traditional beliefs with logic we can think of applied in considering them, and some do this, yet they don't all agree either.
