So Smith is a liar.

But what if the person saying that Smith is a liar is also a known liar?

Who do we believe then?

Smith? No, he's not always a liar. I mean, he puts a little mayo on the sandwich, but there's usually a little sandwich there somewhere.
He'd come and respond himself, but we had a few jars at the pub last night, and he's nursing a hangover. So, liar or not, we at least know he's a lightweight.

Truly the biggest crime in this scenario.

Man, just looking at the first posts on this thread has me convinced that the OP is actually an alt here to farm for frubals.
Most likely a @Rival alt. That's a lot of <Winner!> s.
Or something like that, anyway.

I was invited to join a group that offers Christian support and tolerance to atheists. Here was my response:

-----

I was invited to this group for some reason. I've read the description and frankly I want to vomit in my mouth.

I've been dealing with atheists for 25 years online (Yes, ever since the newsgroup era). They are not looking to find answers. They want you dead. They are a manifestation of the end times. They are SGA (socialist globalist atheists).

The idea that someone has suffered abuse in the Church and therefore is an atheist is hogwash. I suffered hugely in the Church, and I'm a Veridican (which is heretical to the Church, but in fact an advanced radical Christianity).

No one is that dumb, okay? They all know that whatever abuses there were in the Church that Jesus is nothing like that. Jesus never condemned homosexuality, though it was rampant in Rome (and has always been around 5% of humanity anyway). Jesus never encouraged beating Children, in fact quite the opposite. Jesus told us never to judge and to love our neighbor as ourselves and then gave an example of loving someone completely at odds with what we are (the Samaritan).

They're not dumb. They didn't leave the Church and Christ because of abuse, and they haven't left it for "science and reason" either. There are probably more scientists who are theists than there are atheists, and the greatest minds in history have been theists, and one of the greatest minds, Newton, was particularly radical to the point of occultism.

I'm not here to preach the word to the atheists. I hang out in their groups to strengthen my arguments so that I can support the faith of my brothers and sisters in Christ. And maybe, just maybe, raise a flag in a group where other Christians who have the courage to debate the SGA are present. They will see it, and join with me. Maybe they won't become Veridican, but they might join me in these end-times preparations we better start making now.

Thanks for inviting me to the group.

As others, I too find these judgements to be very much at odds with reality.

Atheists are hardly anywhere as homogeneous as you seem to perceive us as being.

I'm pretty sure you've experienced the negative side of this once or twice in your life, more's the pity.
This is something that homophobic religionists seem incapable of grasping.

They've been attacking me with irrational assertions they attributed to God since I was a little kid. Things I personally know are false.

Then they get all self righteously indignant because the rest of their irrational beliefs are, to me, "uncompelling" .
Laughable really, although the damage they do isn't funny.

Same here.
They're a bunch'o annoying jerks, but they're my people.

No large group is as homogeneous as many seem to perceive. Perhaps exceptions are the tiny groups ... members of one church, for example. I've seen people apply the term 'religion' when it has nothing to do with my, or many other's religion. Many of us are guilty some days of over-generalising.

I have been an atheist for most of my life. I have not met an atheist who was an atheist because of abuse inside a church organization. Of course, they may exist. But they are obviously in the minority.

What is your strongest argument for the existence of a god, by the way?
Is it a new one instead of the standard apologetics that have been countered ad nauseam for centuries and yet still are trotted out again?
What would make you stop believing in your god? If the answer is nothing, then you are not using logic or reason, but emotion.

Oh, so all the atheists you know are looking for Christian conversion, and are not socialist and globalist? Nonsense. Not to mention, they're all in the Facebook groups cheering the death of the Christian killed by the natives on that ridiculous island.

Not everyone who is cheering the death of the Christian who went to that island illegally and risked the lives of the entire tribe is an atheist, and not all atheists are cheering his death. You are given over to emotional generalizations that miss the mark and diminish your ability to gain the respect of those you are addressing.

And isn't this sad? That you are a radical Christian because you are heretical to the Church but might be more inline with the original Christians of Acts 11:26? How strange is this? To be in line with Antioch and Christians is to be heretical to the Church?

Those places which call such Christians of Antioch, heretical, are not Churches. They are meeting places.

I wonder where Egor went? I thought he was going to raise his voice against the murderous atheists. I guess he didn't get the hateful responses he was seeking...oh well. There are other forums I guess.

Do atheists need support and tolerance in your country?

You are not from Sweden right? :)

What on earth is veridiganism?

Something involving some sort of vegetarian version of the transubstantiation?

Yes, I am disappointed. I suppose he just wanted to vent and not have a discussion. It would have been interesting to understand where he got his distorted viewpoints from. Maybe he is simply preoccupied and will return to the discussion?

Could you tell me the content or details of the actual mystic experience. Im interested to hear it. I am a believer in these things too mind you.
I don't know how to describe it except as exaltation, presence and immersion... it included the knowing that this is what has been called god by those mystics before. I've experienced interesting things before but this was on a wholly new level.
