Jesus is God the Son.

Jesus is the creator of this world and the God of the Old and New Testament..

Jesus is God.

Jesus came to show us who the Father (God) is and what characteristics a god has, that being a man like any other, only perfect and immortal.

Luke 24: 39
Behold my hands and my feet, that it is I myself: handle me, and see; for a spirit hath not flesh and bones, as ye see me have.

Doctrine and Covenants 129
1 There are two kinds of beings in heaven, namely: Angels, who are resurrected personages, having bodies of flesh and bones—

2 For instance, Jesus said: Handle me and see, for a spirit hath not flesh and bones, as ye see me have.

As a Jehovah's Witness we believed Jesus to be god's son. Not god. God is Jehovah, or YHWH. JWs acknowledge that their interpretation of the name Jehovah may be incorrect but its their best guess.

As a rationalist I believe it is possible there was a man named Jesus who was crucified. He is no more gods son then you or I. His death no different then anyone elses will be and rising from the dead is a stunt that has been performed many times and likely never happened to this particular man. The entire story seems loosely based on fact and written in such a way as to encapsulate pagan rituals and holidays.

The story of Ra stands out.

Jehovah (YHWH) is Jesus Christ, who is God, God the Son.

Elohim is our Heavenly Father, who is God, God the Father.

They are both God, one in purpose.

Are these the names officially recognised as correct by the Church?

I would have thought El (lit. God) would be the more logical choice for God the Father, since you guys have no problem with multiple beings in the Godhead I would have figured Elohim (lit. the gods) would have been a title for the group as a whole?

Elohim is the plural of Eloi. (sp?)

We believe in God the eternal Father, and in his son Jesus Christ. 1st Article of Faith of the LDS church.

It is clear in the Bible that Jesus Christ and God the Father are two separate beings.

Jesus Christ constantly mentions his father who sent him. He Prays to the father. and at one point he even asks if there be someone else who could atone for the sins of the world because the pain was so great that he didn't want to do it anymore. If they were the same person thier wills could not have separated.

God is tabernacled in Flesh and Bone just as Jesus Christ is, both of thier bodies are perfected and Glorified with power ever eveything.

Before his Birth, christ appeared in spirit to many individuals in the Old Testament. and the Voice of God is heard many placesin both the old and New Testament.

If Jesus Christ was God the Father it could not have been so.

Elohim is what we call the Godhead, The Father, and the Son, and the holy Ghost, all 3 separate individuals united in one purpose. to bring to pass the immortality and eternal life of man.

If God the Father was only a spirit then why the need to have a Holy Ghost anyways? BEcause he is tabernacled in flesh just as Jesus Christ is. the holy Ghost's Purpose is to manifest truth to us, but if he was tabernacled in flesh as well he could not accomplish this task. otherwise the Holy Spirit could not dwell within us.
