Let's Present Some Evidence ...

I would say that this is closest thing to a concept of god that I have. However, I really have no evidence for it... It's kind of a feeling. Could be totally wrong though.

You know that "feeling" that you are referring to? That is the Spirit that I am talking about speaking through you. Nothing "supernatural" about it. It is quite a natural feeling isn't it? But then again, why should anything if it actually exists, be unnatural. The evidence is all around us and inside of us.

But that feeling isn't anything measurable. I also have a feeling that the patriots are going to crush the bills tonight. But that's not evidence that it's going to happen.

PureX, I just wanted to thank you for this thread. I did gain something out of it. It helped me come to a better understanding of my own beliefs. I did actually kind of enjoy this thread. It was interesting to say the least.:p

:DWhat would the Buddha say to that?

My suggestion...Don't think about it, just let it happen. All will be revealed sooner or later. Let the evidence reveal itself.

I don't know... I'm not buddhist though. But why would I (or you for that matter) be on a religious debates forum, in a thread about evidence for the existence of god, if I didn't think about it?

Good point.:foot: Perhaps Buddha would have said something that made more sense.:D

Actually, what I was referring to as the evidence being all around us and inside of us is not only referring to the physical scientific evidence in nature, but also the evidence of the consciousness that exists inside of us, even if it might be just in the brain. That "feeling" you have is a part of your consciousness, is it not? Being that there are different levels of consciousness....fully conscious, sub-conscious, semi-conscious, unconscious...how is that not measurable in some way? Do you have a strong feeling, or not so strong? Hmmm... That makes me wonder if those who claim to be psychic are just in some way extra-conscious. Maybe there is yet another level to consciousness that just not all of us realize.:shrug:Is it possible?

However one must acknowledge that it is quite dishonest.

We're all just learning though I suppose, part of the journey. I think PureX is a good person and means well. You know what one wise person once said?..."Every man is good in his sight. It is not necessary for eagle to be crows." I believe it was Chief Seattle who said that.

Yeah, bullsh*t PureX is quite dishonest and ignorant, willfully so I might add. It's another thing to propose something with good intentions, it's another thing to continue to propagate something you know as false, regardless of the intentions. (this includes Santa Clause).

That is perhaps another side of the coin, I understand what you are saying. Some things are taken a bit too far I guess. I don't think he was the only one though.
