Yup, that is the politically correct term today however, it does not make sense to me when I actually think about it. I personally I do not think the term disabled is a negative term either rather, its more accurate. If someone can't walk they are not "differently abled" they are disabled. Their legs are disabled from walking, there is nothing wrong with it but, saying "differently abled" imo 1) Implies they have different abilities, which they don't. As long as we treat the word itself like there is something wrong with it people will treat the disabled as if something is wrong with them
2) Waters down and softens the language to make it less "severe" thus, making it seem less important. If you have not, I would HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend watching this George Carlin (one of my fav comedians of all time) bit on language
