Lt. Col. Alexander Vindman and his brother fired and escorted out of White House.

He worked for government. He is not free from repercussions for his actions.

Wrong. Vindman seems to forgot he works for the military and US government. He can not say what he wants when he wants at no cost.

Opinion.
Was Vindman - and were all the witnesses - wrong to comply with a request to appear before Congress in an impeachment inquiry, in your view?

Comply? No. That is up to him. His conduct was the reason for dismissal. Namely how he leaked and his opinion which guided his leaking.

Of course he did.. Morrison doesn't want to be targeted by Trump.

I was talking about "(I believe). Trump is already targeting Morrison as Morrison is the source of negative reviews. You just didn't know who the source was.

Evidence is more important than witnesses.

There wasn't any.
THe evidence and testimony they did have was quite damning in itself.

Hmmm, I wonder why the evidence was lacking?

It wouldn't have to do with the White House completely stonewalling the investigation at every turn and refusing to provide one shred of paperwork to the House.
Nah, can't be that.

I see. So...any witnesses that the Republicans wanted to call didn't count because they were called by Republicans and therefore not to be allowed....but you are claiming that Republicans were welcome to call witnesses?

Thank you. Honesty is a refreshing thing.
You do know that Kurt Volker was one of the Republican's witnesses, right?
And Tim Morrison?
And Jonathan Turley?

You should. I've pointed it out to you three times now.

You have just doubled down on the circularity. ;) Fun, that...

It is simply your opinion that the Republicans 'didn't want to find out the truth." After all, they had the transcript and the Democratic witnesses. The implication here is pretty simple; if the Republicans had witnesses that would utterly exonerate Trump, they would have been deemed false and unreliable...and not admitted.

Besides which, how can a witness exonerate Trump from doing something that EVERYBODY acknowledges wasn't a crime, much less a 'high crime or misdemeanor?"
Do you think the Republicans behaved like people who wanted to get to the truth of the matter? Think about their actions ....
Again, they did call witnesses who did actually testify. The problem was that they didn't exonerate Trump.

By the way, the "transcript" still isn't a complete transcript. As far as we know, the verbatim transcript is still locked up in that secret server. Why do you think that is?

that little liar didn’t speak the truth though. He’s a disgrace.
How do you know he lied? He testified under oath, which is more than we can say for Trump or any higher-ups in his administration.

Don't you find it funny that the stories told by every single witness all corroborated each other? So either every single person who testified under oath is lying in some coordinated conspiracy theory, or the one guy who DIDN'T testify under oath (Trump) who says everybody else is lying is actually the liar. Especially when we know that guy (Trump) is a pathological liar.

Quite a stretch of the imagination, isn't it?

Autocrats, fascists, and other tyrants all tend to purge if they can get away with it, and now we see this being played out here in the States. But since Trump so much loves former KGB head Vladimir Putin and other "strong leaders", is there really any surprise that Trump would also do this?

And it's gonna likely get worse because he's now emboldened so as to seek revenge against certain people and even a member(s) of their family, like Alexander's brother.

I think too many people are taking our representative democracy for granted to the point of not realizing how much of a danger we may be in store for, and it could be all coming to a head after the election.

Good grief. Are you so blind that you didn't see that this was PRECISELY what happened? He was transferred back to the Department of Defense. he wasn't forced to retire, or kicked out of the military, or demoted, for crying out loud. He was transferred back to his old job. Great googly moogly, man, talk about swallowing the media koolaide!
Why was his brother fired?

Thanks. Could you please provide a source that Vindman leaked information? I am not sure what you mean by his opinion but maybe understanding the leak you are referring to better will clarify that.

Look up his testimony on C-span. He went to a few NSC lawyers then talked to the whistle blower who obvious blew the whistle.

Alexander Vindman | C-SPAN.org
WATCH: Impeachment Hearing with Lt. Col. Vindman and Pence Aide

The first is a general link as c-span split up the whole hearing into specifics from opening statement to different question. The 2nd link is the hearing when he was present.

I am not sure what you mean by his opinion but maybe understanding the leak you are referring to better will clarify that.

Vindman's view of QPQ from the call was his opinion as per his testimony. Obviously the WH disagrees with his opinion thus questions his judgement. Ergo a part of the reason for his removal.

Do you think you get some kind of brownie points for kissing up to Trump??
