Man made god vs Buddha

Do you know twisting the teachings of buddha and posting the false messages about dharma is the worst karma you could get? Please be aware!

Dharma & zen are sacred because they were the holy boats provided by the source of universe to bring all beings to the shore of eternal joy & peace, they will never be twisted by anyone!

Do you know why you are such a sad person? You carry too much negative energies due to posting too many false posts online.

What you do is what you get, no one can escape. That is the eternal karmic law of the universe.

Be true & honest, that will set you free. :disco:

Please show me how I have twisted the sutras. I have given you them in their entirety, in context, without ambiguous terminology.

If you simply wish to argue the sutras are wrong because they disagree with your preconceptions, perhaps, as a Buddhist, you should know better than to rely on either.

If you want to post sutta, just cut & paste, do not made up your own sutta and claimed that it is from the dharma.

Shame on you to spend all of your time making all of the false posts online!

So all of the sutras I gave are illegitimate?

It must hurt trying so hard to be right.

Actually, you are doing that. Here's how ...

Dharma & zen are sacred because they were the holy boats provided by the source of universe to bring all beings to the shore of eternal joy & peace, they will never be twisted by anyone!

That is just your invention.

It is the same manufactured sentiment you will find regarding the bible or quran or vedas being 'revealed' texts, i.e. infallible user guides provided by a benificent Divine Being.

Show us the sutras where Gautama states anything which supports that view.

That is outrageous BS. Gjallahorn is a very intelligent and thoughtful poster, as you would know if you had been here a while. You are enthusiastic to find a sinner to reproach, IMO.

So you are preaching what is basically a 'religious' form of buddhism which may as well be any faith-based spiel - God, or 'The Source', giving us infallible instructions, because He/It wants us to be happy.

Show me some teaching of Gautama which supports that.

Think beyond words, labels & standards.

Provide an example of 'thinking' which is 'beyond words, labels & standards'.

Heart and mind both have their place. Neither is all. Both are beautiful assets
I am happy to have :D

I consider Jesus God and his son, I consider myself God and his son, I consider you god and his son.

Ultimately, I call God to the consciousness that is beyond all and encompasses us all.

I wish I meditated more, i certainly should do that now that I have job, I need the load off my head :thud:

I put some of my thoughts of this above :D

I all, may you too be so blessed :namaste

:D Good to know that you are an open minded person too! If you truly want to know about the universe and the source of universe, i suggest you to look at the dharma (buddha's teachings), it has everything you need to know. & you will realize all of the religions that has the figure of "god" is just a copy cat and a twisted dharma.

I have some great websites for you to find out more about buddhism & meditation:

www.baus.org (The buddhist association of United States)
chan meditation center (Founded by Master Sheng Yen)
BuddhaNet - Worldwide Buddhist Information and Education Network
Just be Good
Plum Village Practice Center | Plum Village Official Website (Founded by Thich Nhat Hanh)

Nice sharing with you! :cheese:

Didn't you read my comparison on the thread?

The source of universe is not what you can imagined until you reach enlightenment, based on your limited understanding with all of the wrong views & perceptions you had in mind, you won't be able to relate to what the source really means even though I explain to you.

Most of the people were being brain washed by those who created god, you won't be able to know what the true universal source means until you start to look at buddha's teachings, understand it and practice it in your daily life.

Dharma & zen is not knowledge, they are sacred and a way of life.

If you are able to fully understand the dharma, follow through and fully apply the dharma in daily life, enlightenment is 100% guaranteed.

Path to enlightenment has been shown by buddha, but you need to walk on your own and experience it yourself.

If you care to find out more about buddhism & zen practice, i would also suggest you to visit the following sites:

The way he is dodging actual constructive dialog makes me lean towards the "troll" option.

Hypocrite. You say to receive insight from BuddhaNet.

BuddhaNet's Buddhist Web Links: Theravadan Websites

The first link they provide for Theravada is Access to Insight, from which I have given you the Dona Sutta. And for the Brahmajala Sutta:

Brahmajāla Sutta: The All-embracing Net of Views

You will trust a site enough to recommend it but not enough to trust the links it recommends?

None of the website can give you true insight, but yourself.

No body can give you true insight, but yourself.

Insight came from wisdom, wisdom came from actual cultivation of compassion & loving kindness through our daily life.

Once again, dharma is not a knowledge, in order to absorb dharma, you must practice dharma in your daily life in order to truly understand it, digest it and become your own insight. If not, it still belong to buddha.

If possible, i would suggest you to attend some of the meditation class by those reliable organizations I suggested.

 dreadfish, it is so sad to see someone trying to twist the great teaching of buddha and causing so much misunderstanding about buddhism.

I like your bodhidharma icon btw. :)

Didn't you read my comparison on the thread?

You did not answer any of the questions asked.

You are unable to support the propositions which you present as 'buddhism'.

If you are able to fully understand the dharma, follow through and fully apply the dharma in daily life, enlightenment is 100% guaranteed.
That sounds like the selling of snake oil. It just has that classic ambience ....

I just did.

Are you Ying Ho ?

The website is for the sales of organic tea products and gifts.

Is there perhaps any snake oil for sale ?

Just be aware ... if you are using RF for the purpose of finding customers for your tea, you may find some objections here.

Since you are unable to respond to my questions which examine your 'special brew' of 'buddhism', it would seem that perhaps the selling of tea is in fact your motivation for being here.

Points for creative marketing, Ying Ho, but using the buddha dharma as a selling point for a product is , err, ummm, [ insert suitable label here ]

Are you Buddha?

Again, are you Buddha?

Don't you know that everyone is Buddha? Unless you let your negative thoughts and desires fully controlled your mind and causing the death of your buddha nature.

BE AWARE OF ALL THE EVIL THINGS THAT YOU ARE DOING ONLINE, THE MORE PEOPLE READ YOUR FALSE POSTS, THE MORE BAD KARMA IN RETURN TO YOU. ESPECIALLY TWISTING THE SACRED DHARMA. IT IS STRONG ENOUGH TO PULL YOURSELF DOWN TO THE HELL REALM.

Hell realm is governed by anger and hatred. I do not hate you. I simply don't understand why you think I'm lying, or twisting scripture, or whatever crimes you hold against me. Just because something doesn't fit your preconceived view of Buddhism doesn't make it wrong.

The fact of the matter is, Gautama Buddha explicitly denied the existence of a creator. However, he did not deny other gods, including the Hindu Brahma (and Indra, if I remember right). He also denied being human because being human, to him, involved a state of mind immersed in samsara. And finally, Tathagata is a state of deathlessness, which of course is metaphor.

So, what has you so upset with me, aside from my use of sutras to discount your points?

I think the word 'he' may have caused Buddhadream to assume you meant gjallahorn.

Buddhadream is a woman named Ying Ho.

She is into Pure Land buddhism - which is not actually buddhism as you understand it. It is a very popular derivation of buddhism in East Asia. It is the same old theistic song and dance, invented in about 150 CE. Its inventors decided that Gautama's teaching was too difficult for people to understand .... So in Pure Land you just recite the name of Amitabha Buddha all your life to gain the chance to reborn in the Pure Land after death, and from there nirvana is easier to attain. Superstition to petition god for good fortune in other words.

Unfortunately, after existing for nearly two thousand years, it is considered to be a form of buddhism, and if you argue against it, you will be told "there are various forms of buddhism, you are just prejudiced".

I don't have a problem with it except that it is called 'buddhism', which really muddies the waters IMO. It disposes with the idea that the eightfold path can lead to nirvana in this life in preference for the idea that you can get 'cosmic merit points' which will set you up for a good rebirth so you can get enlightened later.

In that sense, it is much the same as hindu demigod worship, with options on buddhist enlightenment, but in a future life, not this one.

So a Pure Land practitioner doesn't need to deal with the essentials of buddha dharma like emptiness, dependent arisings etc, and reconcile this with the experience of the meditative state - they just petition a deity for a chance to do that in a future life.

Man made god; he is in controls of everything, pray & rely on his never coming savior true problem never been resolved, your mind is being locked & controlled and suffers from loosing the control of your mind & unsolved problems.

Buddha; tells you the truth of how the universe works, all problems will be resolved if you live according to the law of universe, you are in control of your life, no one else.
4. You obtain the Freedom of mind by walking on the path to enlightenment.
