Please show us where the "Catholic Church" is mentioned in the scriptures.

Well it isn't of course.
The "catholic" church didn't exist when the Bible was written.

Later, in AD 325, Constantine called the Council of Nicea in an attempt to unify Christianity.

Sadly Constantine fail to unify Christianity.
How many denominations of Christians ALL READING THE SAME BOOK?
http://philvaz.com/apologetics/a120.htm

The Facts and Stats on "33,000 Denominations"

I've read as many as FORTY THOUSAND denominations of Christians.

How many "denominations" of Islam?
Not many.
According to most sources, approximately 85% of the world's Muslims are Sunni, and approximately 15% are Shi'a; however, there is a small minority who are members of other Islamic sects.
I've read anywhere between 1.8 Billion and 2.3 billion.
It's comforting to not that only 15% of that number support terrorism to promote
Islam.
Comforting what?
?????????????????????
How many is 15% of 2.3 billion one wonders?

One might take note that NO Christian Church today promotes murder
in the name of Jehovah.
The VAST MAJORITY of Islam is non violent and peace loving.
Islam IS the religion of peace.

Ya just gotta respect a religion promoting peace, love, and acceptance, in this
most troubled world.

Thanks for the clarification of where you were coming from.

As far as considering Sunday worship being the mark of the beast. I think that is a Seventh day Adventist position. I don't know of any others that believe that way. But I could be wrong.

I've never run across that about the SDA, so I'll try and check it out.

The beast, the papacy- thinking to change times and laws- as had been prophesied by Daniel has set up his own day in opposition to God's holy day. When it shall be unlawful to buy or sell without keeping the papal sabbath- sun day, it shall then be the mark of the beast.

Man o man that is one weird and unfounded statement that condemns ALL worshipers
that attend Sunday services.

So do you go to your "church" on Sunday? Or do you even have a church or
denomination of any kind?

I hope to be among the number which will have right to the city of God and eat of the tree of life. Only the commandment keepers will have that right. 'Blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city', Rev 22:14. I am Seventh Day Adventist which is the remnant of the woman (woman represents church in prophesy) which has the faith of Jesus and keeps the commandments of God. 'And the dragon was wroth with the woman, and went to make war with the remnant of her seed, which keep the commandments of God, and have the testimony of Jesus Christ. Rev 12:17'
Notwithstanding that Babylon is fallen, the great body of God's children is in her. These honest souls which have not had the light on and rejected these truths must be called out before the 7 last plagues are poured on Babylon. 'Come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues.' Rev 18:4
Quote from the Great Controversy by Ellen White: “Notwithstanding the spiritual darkness and alienation from God that exist in the churches which constitute Babylon, the great body of Christ's true followers are still to be found in their communion. There are many of these who have never seen the special truths for this time. Not a few are dissatisfied with their present condition and are longing for clearer light. They look in vain for the image of Christ in the churches with which they are connected. As these bodies depart further and further from the truth, and ally themselves more closely with the world, the difference between the two classes will widen, and it will finally result in separation. The time will come when those who love God supremely can no longer remain in connection with such as are "lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God; having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof."

Hi friend. Saturday doesn't mean rest, though. It means ''Saturns day''. Do you worship Saturn?
Sabbath keeping existed before there was a heathen on earth to worship the planets. 'And on the seventh day God ended his work which he had made; and he rested on the seventh day from all hiswork which he had made. And God blessed the seventh day, and sanctified it: because that in it he had rested from all his work which God created and made.' Gen 2:2,3. It is as old as this earth since it was established on the 7th day of creation and kept by our first parents before their fall.

I believe these quotes from the book Great Controversy by Ellen White answer you.
The apostle Paul, in his second letter to the Thessalonians, foretold the great apostasy which would result in the establishment of the papal power. He declared that the day of Christ should not come, "except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition; who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshiped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, showing himself that he is God." And furthermore, the apostle warns his brethren that "the mystery of iniquity doth already work." 2 Thessalonians 2:3, 4, 7. Even at that early date he saw, creeping into the church, errors that would prepare the way for the development of the papacy.

Little by little, at first in stealth and silence, and then more openly as it increased in strength and gained control of the minds of men, "the mystery of iniquity" carried forward its deceptive and blasphemous work. Almost imperceptibly the customs of heathenism found their way into the Christian church. The spirit of compromise and conformity was restrained for a time by the fierce persecutions which the church endured under paganism. But as persecution ceased, and Christianity entered the courts and palaces of kings, she laid aside the humble simplicity of Christ and His apostles for the pomp and pride of pagan priests and rulers; and in place of the requirements of God,
she substituted human theories and traditions. The nominal conversion of Constantine, in the early part of the fourth century, caused great rejoicing; and the world, cloaked with a form of righteousness, walked into the church. Now the work of corruption rapidly progressed. Paganism, while appearing to be vanquished, became the conqueror. Her spirit controlled the church. Her doctrines, ceremonies, and superstitions were incorporated into the faith and worship of the professed followers of Christ.

This compromise between paganism and Christianity resulted in the development of "the man of sin" foretold in prophecy as opposing and exalting himself above God. That gigantic system of false religion is a masterpiece of Satan's power-a monument of his efforts to seat himself upon the throne to rule the earth according to his will.

The woman (Babylon) of Revelation 17 is described as "arrayed in purple and scarlet color, and decked with gold and precious stones and pearls, having a golden cup in her hand full of abominations and filthiness:...and upon her forehead was a name written, Mystery, Babylon the Great, the mother of harlots." Says the prophet: "I saw the woman drunk with the blood of the saints, and with the blood of the martyrs of Jesus."Babylon is further declared to be "that great city, which reigneth over the kings of the earth." Revelation 17:4-6, 18. The power that for so many centuries maintained despotic sway over the monarchs of Christendom is Rome. The purple and scarlet color, the gold and precious stones and pearls, vividly picture the magnificence and more than kingly pomp affected by the haughty see of Rome. And no other power could be so truly declared "drunken with the blood of the saints" as that church which has so cruelly persecuted the followers of Christ. Babylon is also charged with the sin of unlawful connection with "the kings of the earth." It was by departure from the Lord, and alliance with the heathen, that the Jewish church became a harlot; and Rome, corrupting herself in like manner by seeking the support of worldly powers, receives a like condemnation.

The reference in part is to Rome, but it's clearly a reference to the Roman Empire, which was neither Christian nor Catholic. No serious Christian theologian would ever claim that it's a reference to the RCC. Even most churches that used to make claims like yours many years ago have realized just how wrong they were and have dropped these absurd charges.

"Babylon the Great" was a reference to the Roman Empire, and "Babylon", which is rendered in a feminine form in Koine Greek, is a reference to the city of Rome, and the latter shows up in one of the epistles attributed to Peter. We know this because these terms were fairly common lingo back then, and people well understood then what they stood for, much like today people would know what "the Great Satan" stood for when the Iranians repeatedly said it. Decades from now, people are not at all likely to know what it stands for.

Plus it makes not one iota of sense to accuse the RCC as being referred to in this way. Even though you may not be crazy about the church's leadership system, do they not teach about the necessity of believing in God and Jesus? Are you aware of the fact that the church you condemn chose the books that are in your Bible? Are you aware that they formulated and teach about the "Trinity"? Are you aware of the fact that it was the Catholic Church that emerged from the apostles through appointees that are mentioned in Acts and have been well documented?

BTW, just to clarify, I am neither Catholic nor Christian, so I don't have any irons in this fire.

I checked out the SDA website, and it makes no reference to what you posted, so could you link me to what they say that matches what you've said?
I'll give you a link to a book written by one of the founders of the seventh day advent movement. Her name was Ellen White and she had the gift of prophecy. You should find the texts on pages 52 and 382 of the book Great Controversy. http://www.end-times-prophecy.org/GreatControversy.pdf
God speed in your search of truth my friend.

As I mentioned in my last post, a lot of rethinking on this has occurred over the last century especially, so do the SDA still teach this?

And God speed to you and yours as well.
