Depends on the sect. The United Church Of Christ will give you a very different answer than the Westboro Baptist Church.

So it's still okay for females to masturbate. Boy, women! They get all the breaks. :sad4:

Not really. The same folks that won't allow men to masturbate are also the ones who most likely see us as property.

So don't fret....at least not about that. :kissbette

I think that most modern Christians wouldn't see it as a sin, or at least as bad as other things they could be doing.

But, I remember my parents dissuading me from it when I was a kid, saying my penis would fall off (though I think that was a cultural thing).

It didn't dissuade me, of course. I've become a master at bating. ;)

Everyone knows that men belong to women.

It's a form of self fortification, it's giving in to the lustful desires of your flesh. It's a sin and If your not careful you'll be controlled by those desires.

Err . . . how about self gratification?

In any case, just what kind of control do you see taking place?

And what's so wrong about desiring to please oneself? If I'm bored and it pleases me to watch TV would it be wrong to do so because I'm giving in to the desire? How about my desire to eat?

Well, it's very similar to hunger: if you let this basic instinct control you, you could get harmed by it.

But also, by attempting to ignore it, it could grow stronger and stronger...

(Depending on the person, of course. I know with me, the longer I deny it the stronger it is and the more willing I am to do naughty, naughty things.)

Octavia (I love your name, by the way), I cringed watching that video. So a woman apparently has reason to fear if she doesn't bleed after having sex for the first time.

Great. I never bled. Not even a little bit. I'd be accused of "fornication" and run the risk of being killed? Oh, man...

Just watched the video posted by Octavia156, featuring some mad f***er. I stopped after these words:
"Even if she did fornicate, she does not deserve to be killed. At the most, she should be flogged if she confesses four times..."

I really hope children aren't exposed to religion. Who knows what damage may be caused....

I'm sure they still disapprove, but their attention of late has been on more pressing threats like healthcare reform, taxes, safety nets for the poor, "redistribution of wealth, &c.
