What do you think of the food quality at McDonald's?

How do they stay in business? I know a lot of people eat there because it is a household name and all, but is that all that's keeping them going? Am I alone in thinking they are really the worst tasting fast food in the world? Heck, you are lucky if they can even get the condiments and the slice of cheese centered on the sandwich. Let's take it to a poll!

I like the little fried apple pies, but I haven't eaten one in about 15 years because even they have beef fat in them  (I can only assume I still like them) The rest of the food is crap.

I think Happy Meals, pester power and a lack of imagination keeps them alive and kicking.

I'm in between.

I'd hang out at McDonalds a fair bit in high school, but these days, I typically won't go there unless I'm off on a road trip somewhere. Then, it's a place that I know isn't too bad that I don't have to go out of the way to get to. Most of the rural highway service stations in Ontario have McDonaldses, so it kinda ends up being the default option unless there's a Flying J nearby that I know about.

You're in a hurry, there is a mcdonalds every two blocks, and it takes 30 seconds from cash transfer to eating.

It is simply a matter of convenience. Nobody eats there for the quality.

Yeah it's pretty gross but sometimes, some can taste real good.

You've just got to turn off your brain and not focus on the fact that you're intaking pure crap lol.

I must be one of the last people on Earth who has never eaten a Big Mac. I did choke down a "Fish Wich" years ago, but have never understood why people think their insipid fries are awesome. I think I bought a coffee from them also, at one point, and it was pretty bad too. Honestly, I can't stand the smell of their products, let alone actually consider eating them.

They stay in business because of the business mentality, which requires, in this case, a franchise.

Hey now, I work at a McDonald and we are good at making are food look nice. It's actually not as bad as people think it is, and it's also not as good ether. It also all depends what MicyDs you go to, some are better then others.
The one I work at is a small one so we might not have the problems that might be at a big one.
Personally though I'm indifferent, though I do like the way I make my McChicken(yes one of the upsides, finding ways to customize you own food) ^_^

The quality is horrendous, but our family has been known to eat there once a month or so (and like Jeff, more often if we're on a road trip).

Too much salt, too many preservatives, and if you want to gross yourself out from ever eating there again, watch the movie SuperSize Me. Morgan Spurlock ate nothing but McDonalds for 30 days straight and it really jeoparized his health in that short amount of time.

Plus, he did this nifty science experiment by putting a bunch of McD's fries in a glass container and waited for them to decompose........after 6 months, they never changed from their original form. So, the question remains, what the fudge IS that stuff they call french fries? And does everyone realize that McD's fries doesn't break down in people's digestive tracts? :cover:

Gross.

I refuse to let my taste for "easy" food vanish. But Mac Donalds doesn't have the best quality..

As I had only 2 options though, I choose "awesome" as the other one does not apply in my opinion.

I don't think McDonalds is great, but I don't think it's terrible either. I'd definitely take a Carls Jr. or In-n-Out over Mickey D's though, that's for sure. :)

Apparently someone likes it. They have franchises all over the world and in the US you can hardly drive 5km without passing one.
I think they put a lot of research into getting the taste just right for the region they're servicing.

I think its disgusting food, its never hot and the Burger meat looks anaemic,i certainly would not eat anything with Mayonaise in it (saw a documentary on McDonalds) although i will drink the Coffee if i have to.

Strangely, though I am a vegetarian and reject their food on moral grounds as well as the fact that I find it disturbingly "mushy", I still miss eating it. I'd love to eat a big mac right now, even though I have several reasons for not doing so.
