so.... how much longer must i wait until this "fun" competition is over :run:

Well, for YOUR country, it should be over soon :p (I think they're playing Germany, and I'm expecting Germany to win altogether). But the last game is July 9, I think.

Did anybody witness the amazingness that was Argentina's winning goal the other day? I think it's the best goal for the whole tourney so far.

Sadly, I've been busy for the last couple of days, so that was the only game I've been able to catch lately. Has Brazil played Ghana yet? And when's Germany's next game?
No I missed the Mexico/Argentina match.

Brazil and Ghana play tomorrow.

Germany plays Argentina on Friday.

Cambiaso's has surely got the be the goal of the tournament.

Brazil play Ghana tomorrow, and Germany play Argentina on Friday.

Glad to see Shevchenko miss a penalty, just like he missed his against us in the Champions League final last year :-D Most of them were shockingly bad penalties, though.

The only possible place for England to play Germany would be in the actual final. And C'mon, we're not going to get to the final :p

*cough* (But if we did, we'd win.) *cough*

No England is playing Portugal. But they must play better than they did against Ecuador or they will be over. Portugal is good when they are strong, but that remains to be seen after the awful game yesterday.

Heheh. I think I just got a little confused on my facts there.

I'm honestly not too impressed with Portugal this year. They haven't been living up to their potential. I wouldn't be surprised if England won.

Especially since Portugal will be missing two key players, and have a lot of them on yellow cards. I agree, we're not looking too hot- but we have a better chance against this Portugal team. And I think we've more of a chance of beating Portugal than we would have had Holland!

Australia were totally robbed by the official from a penalty shoot out at least.
Having said that though, Australia had a few really good chances to finish the game before then. So they have only themselves to blame for poor finishing.
This doesn't excuse the dive though. dispicable! At least I get to hold onto my coins. (the little I have) ;)

I agree they muffed their chances, but the officials seem to have had it in for them from day 1. Stupid Soccer mafia.

I think that the officials have been incredibly poor in this World Cup. The decision to give Italy the penalty was just one of many examples (the red card that reduced Italy to ten men was dubious as well and without that they might have won more convincingly).

Bring back the bald, scary looking Italian whose name I always forget. He was a good referee.

Yes!! I agree. That guy was brilliant!
But it must also be said that the players have also been behaving like school children! So a lot of the cards are deserved.

Have you seen anyone booked for diving? In these world cup finals?

Nope. I've seen people booked for things that were not worth booking and people not booked for things that were. The only good thing to say about it is that the officials have been universally awful rather than biased towards particular teams (which isn't exactly unheard of either, is it?)

Yeah, I'm sorry for your country. I was only following it on the net because I had to work at the time, but the net commentators words were enough to convince me it probably resembled a rugby game more than football.
