So apparently, even Obama is admitting Hillary broke the law with the e-mails. This story never ends. :p

"WASHINGTON (AP) — The Obama administration confirmed for the first time Friday that Hillary Clinton's home server contained closely guarded government secrets, censoring 22 emails that contained material requiring one of the highest levels of classification. The revelation comes three days before Clinton competes in the Iowa presidential caucuses.

State Department officials also said the agency's Diplomatic Security and Intelligence and Research bureaus are investigating if any of the information was classified at the time of transmission, going to the heart of Clinton's defense of her email practices."

Those levels of e-mails are criminal to leak, and a felony. Is Hillary done?

Criminal to leak. Does that mean criminally to...I don't even know the word here...endanger?
Sorry, whilst I guess anyone can understand the basics of the law in question, I'm not American (as you know) and this has had limited detailed cover here.

She's basically legally liable for any accidental release of the info or it even being places where it doesn't belong. It's a felony...

I very much doubt she had the clearance to have the documents on her home server, so therefore it would be a felony.

This is sort of like storing top secret documents on your dining room table, and I think it's pretty ridiculous.

If the emails were not classified at the time she downloaded them where's the crime?
They could make the White House lunch menu top secret, if they wanted to. That wouldn't make it a threat to national security

As far as the law governing the handling of classified material is concerned, it really doesn't matter if they did not have a classification at the time. What matters is that if the material was not so marked at the time of generation, whether by removing the classification or at a latter date the material is still classified. Thus by not insuring that any material could or was classified was not handled to safeguard the material a breach of security has taken place. I don't know how foggy bottom handles classified material I am highly cognizant of how classified material is "supposed" to handled in the military.
As far as I'm concerned the Hillary put her personal convenience above the security of the country. In other words if she is so dumb to not know what should or should not be considered classified she is to dumb to be the Commander-In-Chief.

When I worked on the F18 program, none of the documents I saw were marked as classified. But what would have happened if I'd taken some home?
Structural drawings, flight control drawings, etc.

You care about this a great deal.
Almost nobody who might vote for her does. So it really isn't an election issue.
People who think it is a huge issue might want to invest their time better than follow this. Because most people don't care.

At this point there is no evidence of any illegal activity on her part, but the investigation continues.

BTW her server might turn out to be more secure that the government's with the security breaches of the latter in recent years. Just saying. ;)

The GOP really are clutching at straws.

Why are you not worried about Cruz's lies about losing his health insurance because of Obamacare?
I don't know where to start with Trump - just be worried, very worried.

Well the same goes for attending class on a project that the material came from a classified source and was so marked. Any notes that were taken by the participants were not marked with the classification but they had to be locked in a safe because the source of the notes came from a classified source and were classified. So, it really doesn't matter if a document, in this case class notes, were not marked with a classification they would get one in serious legal problems if they were mishandled.

I guess because I see it as completely two different problems. Politicians have a tendency to embellish facts and the other is doing something that in my eyes was criminal. I would have been court-martialed for doing what the Hillary did.

Or worse, someone stole them out of your home.

If you never brought them away from where they are supposed to be there is no problem.

So then why is no one still going after Collin Powell, who admitted he did it himself and was aware of no laws against doing so (because there weren't any).

Did Colin Powell admit that he had classified documents on a whatever other than a "US Government secured site"?
