It was on fire when I laid down on it.
You know what freaks me out here - why have so many people watched "The Sound of Music" over and over??? I mean, I think it's a great movie but it surprises me that so many diverse types also apparently think so.

Because it's on television at least once a year.

I don't know about you, but if I don't like whatever's on a particular channel, I just flip to one of about 200 other channels.

I think that a lot of people here actually do like that movie, but I could be wrong. If I'm right though - well, that makes me feel better about people in general.

I'm not saying they don't like it, just that it's overexposed. It's a nice enough movie, but the only reason I've seen it so many times is because my grandmother watches it every Christmas season.

I don't think Sound of Music is overexposed. I watched some of it on TV once recently, and that's the only time I ever remember watching it on TV. I don't remember seeing it on any other time. I watched it well over 8 times as a kid, but I've also seen it 2 or 3 times since I was 20 or so.

It's kind of a Christmas tradition here to watch certain movies, Sound of Music, Great Escape, Bunches of MGM Bible flicks, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, It's a Wonderful life, Die Hard(s).

You just sit there trapped in the house with people you realise there is a reason you only see once a year, the shops and pubs and everything else is closed, in law to in law relations are strained and you switch on the telly and watch whatever Christmas movie is on, and just hope it's not Mary Poppins:)
