The American. Its only redeeming quality was gratuitous nudity. Everything else was awful.

Got through most of "My Name is Khan" before thunderstorms and tornado sirens disrupted our viewing.

So far, it's freakin brilliant. Looking forward to finishing it tonight.

Despicable Me.

What's up with the recent spate of good guy villains? Is Disney trying to tell us something?

Finished the movie, and it ran a little long, but still a great movie. I don't think I laughed so hard and sobbed so much all while watching the same film in a while. We loved it.

I finally watched the Hangover.

Fantastic movie. I loved the Mike Tyson scenes.

Also just saw 127 hours. Also intense.

You would think a movie about a guy trapped in a chasm for 5 days with his armed pinned by a boulder would get boring at some point, but it never did.

It was on fire when I laid down on it.
Just watched "The Green Zone" with Matt Damon. Hate to say it, but it was a big dissappointment.

Also saw "The Social Network" this weekend. It was very interesting - I would recommend it.

We also watched a documentary called "Inheritance" which is the true story about Amon Goeth's daughter meeting his WW2 "house slave." Amon Goeth was the concentration camp Kommandant in Schindler's List. He was hanged for his war crimes shortly after WW2 ended. His daughter was only about three at the time, and did not learn of his true history till she was about fifty years old. When she saw Schindler's List, she was absolutely devastated.

The documentary was about the long term effects of the war on all those involved - the burden that so many carry, even now. It was very well done and very moving. Very thought provoking. Amon Goeth's daughter is a victim of his crimes as much as anyone else.

Dog Day Afternoon. First time I got to watch the whole film. Great movie. Al Pacino's great.

Want to watch ...And Justice For All next.

I say the same.

It's on my Netflix Queue, but it's going to take a while...

Well, not sure quite how that queue works, but I have had it reserved for awhile. I moved it to my 1 position last week, and it came in right away. You may want to try that.

I love me some NetFlix. About to start a movie right now!

Yeah, I could move it up and get it pretty quickly, but there are other movies I want to watch that are above it, so it's going to be a while. That's what I meant.

What sort of movies do you like, Penumbra? I am a pretty big fan of independent films, black comedy, intense emotional dramas, and award winning foreign films. Not so much into science fiction or action movies, unless they have a lot of substance to them. I also don't care much for happy happy joy joy movies that are fluffy and predictable. I'm very picky about the script - VERY picky. The fastest way for me to lose interest is to hear a pantywaist script. I would rather watch substandard special effects than have to suffer through a stilted script! (Though both are burdensome!)
