All 10 episodes of 'Band of Brothers' miniseries based on historian and biographer Ambrose's book by the same title. it focuses on the experience of Easy Company of the 2nd Battalion, 506th Parachute Infantry Regiment assigned to the 101st Airborne Division of the United States Army. The series covers Easy's basic training at Toccoa, Georgia, the American airborne landings in Normandy, Operation Market Garden, the Battle of Bastogne and on to the end of the war, including the taking of the Kehlsteinhaus (Hitler's Eagle's Nest).
The events portrayed are based on Ambrose's research and recorded interviews with Easy Company veterans.
I've also ran into and bought the book in the least expected place yesterday for a very cheap price, an anarchist/communist/far left bookshop, with most of the military literature focusing on criticism of western foreign affairs and military campaigns. although they have some good gems in the shop.

Stardust- one of those cases when the movie suppresses the book, even when its one of your favourite writers. De Niro and Pfeiffer are awesome in their roles, however I think my favourite character is Septimus (played by Mark Strong), cunning and focused on his political interests until the end, always elegantly entertaining.

Ace Ventura 2- my favourite of the two.

The Libertine- found it boring. completely and utterly boring.

Marley & Me- was too sensitive to tell my fiancee I was getting bored, but by the film's development during the last 30 minutes or so she could hear me crying like a boy who lost his own dog :D

Blues Brothers 2000- great great music, and great fun. then again you can't expect Dan Aykroyd and John Goodman to screw up too much. Goodman was great in vocals. the movie didnt get impressive reviews on IMDB, maybe its the music, the blues, or the people who appear in the movie, but I just enjoyed it without trying to measure it next to the original Blues Brothers.

The Human Caterpillar

This a horror flick. A really good movie until the human caterpillar is finished. Then I fast forwarded it and watched the end, which is wonderful. Definitely the freakiest and most disturbing movie I ever hope to see.

The Human Centipede right? That movie was all around SICK. :areyoucra It was still humorous though because of the horrific acting.

The part that made me ROFL was when the guy (at the front of the centipede/catepillar) yells... "I have to ****!!!!!" and "I'm sorry!!!" LMAO! I seriously gagged and laughed at the same time. It was quite the experience. :clap

I watched Ridley Scott // Russell Crowe's "Robin Hood."

It's hard for a movie to blow more than that.

I'd rather Ridley Scott work on more Alien movies.

I didn't see that. I cut it off when he just finished the centipede and was showing it to them in the mirror. Ahhhh

Then I watched the end.

Resident Evil Afterlife Decent film, thought they could have closed things off with this one, but they decided to leave it open

Kathryn

It was on fire when I laid down on it.
Yep, my husband and I just saw "The King's Speech" and we both really, really liked it. Great acting!

I just watched three very depressing movies this past weekend while my husband was out of town. Individually they would have been good, but cumulatively they wore me out:

Precious
Osama
Veronica Guerin

Like I said - all very good movies, but together they were too much of a good, depressing thing.

The Kids Are All Right - predictable & annoying.
Even the title was lame...."alright" makes more sense than "all right".
Go see The King's Speech instead.

I loved that movie but I was so upset with how much they left out! Two main things I hated:

1. Wesker wasn't as BA as he was in the game. They beat him pretty quickly. The fight scene should have been more gradual with him.

2. You never knew how they got out of the jail (or whatever it was... I don't even remember). They just magically came out. There were no scenes or anything. I was so upset about that right away.

It's too bad because this was my favorite Resident Evil movie... It would have been better if they weren't lazy.
