Erik the Viking - it's made by some of the Monty Python crew, but largely fails to convey the humour and wit of, say, "Life of Brian" or "Holy Grail", although it does have its moments. 2/5.

Killer Klowns from Outer Space!

I heard it was rubbish, and that's wrong. It sets out to do what it was intended to do quite well - it's a rather ridiculous comedy/horror movie, which, as the title suggests, involves klowns that come from outer space... to kill.

Finally watched Inside in its entirety a few nights ago. Saw an early screening of 9 and saw The Mist last night for the second time.
Oh, and I also watched the series Firefly and Spaced in their entirety over the three-day weekend.

Are you talking about District 9?

9 takes place in a world parallel to our own, in which the very legacy of humanity is threatened. A group of sapient rag dolls, living a post-apocalyptic existence find one of their own, 9 (Elijah Wood), who displays leadership qualities that may help them to survive.

The visuals were the only decent facet in the movie, I found. The action was mediocre. The rest was awful. Quite disappointing.

cardero was telling me it wasn't what people expected. The story wasn't good but the visuals were good.

Surveillance.

Directed by Jennifer Lynch. It was only good to watch Bill Pullman. Too much of the story was just over the top contrived. More entertaining than most of her dad's films.

Saw Zombieland. It's no Shaun of the Dead but it's a lot of fun.

And my Wim Wender dvds arrived! I watched Paris,Texas- it's been years since I saw it. The region 2 dvd of his 280 minute director's cut of Until the End of the World and my Criterion of Wings of Desire (Der Himmel über Berlin) both came in as well.I haven't seen these two since the mid to late 90s.

Wings of Desire and Paris,Texas are both in my top 25 favorite films. Henri Alekan's cinematography is amazing in Wings'- the whole film is just atmosphere as character. Alekan also did the cinematography for Cocteau's Beauty and the Beast, another one of my favorites.

Apart from Zombieland I has all these movies, they rock, Beauty and the Beast or La Belle et La Bete as we weird Euros call it has amazing special effects , when you remember it was made in 1946 and then compare it to such things the last installment of Pirates of the Carribean you realise some modern should be ashamed of themselves.

We 'Mericans don't take kindly to that French talk- La Belle et la Bete is the debbil's language.
Coppola pretty much plagarized the 1st quarter of his version of Dracula from La Belle'- oops, I mean "borrowed from" as in an homage... or something.
