It doesn't matter. It can be the best law in the world. The problem is that in our secular Europe the law must be equal for everyone. That's our value systems. Juridic particularism is medieval and backward.
It is very unjust to apply a kind of law only to one category of people.

It's like I invented a law by writing a civil code, and then I imposed the UK government to create civil courts that apply this law.

So in your Europe the law is equal for everyone, treats the rich and the poor equally??? treats Muslims and members of the royal family equally??? Sounds like paradise, no wonder so many people want to move there!!!

SBS is good too. Watch that vid, if it isn't blocked where you are.

I was actually on the steps of Parliament House in Canberra at that fateful moment when Gough Whitlam emerged looking like someone had put a Rohypnol in his tea.

Coincidence eh ?

Pray for me if I suddenly stop posting soon. I must be one of the half dozen aussies actually paying attention ;)

I lived in Canberra for a year when Gough was PM, back in the states I was devastated to hear his "liberal" party replacement had rescinded his free medical care, unfortunately I lost touch with my motherland, phone calls home were $3 a minute, and letters were few and far between, there are some blessings of the internet age, now I can read up on Australia on the web, and my $30/month internet telephone service gives me unlimited free calls home to my cousins in tasi and nsw, and my violin maker friend in wa. Amazing isn't it!

Malcolm Fraser's first official act as PM was to re-instate the cadet corps (military training in Australian high schools).

Actually, he turned out to be a decent fellow much later, once he got a clue about what was going on.. After he was drugged and humiliated in Memphis...

The scary thing is that Malcolm Fraser is now so far to the Left that he probably actually believes it:

Malcolm Fraser: The Political Memoirs (is) jointly written by Fraser and Margaret Simons. According to Simons, Fraser wanted to expose himself to critical questioning. So the co-authored book attempts to be both biography and autobiography which, of course, is impossible.

As is the attempt to finally make go away what happened in Memphis, in 1986, when Fraser lost his pants…

“So what happened in Memphis?” asks the book. “Fraser gave some brief comments to the media at the time but has never expanded on them. He does not intend to do so now.”

So much for the critical questioning…

The book explains (Fraser) ... went to town “hoping to find some of the famous live blues venues”. He went for a drink at the flash Peabody Hotel but “awoke in a very different place: the Admiral Benbow Hotel, a notoriously seedy dive”.

It goes on: “Today, both (wife) Tamie and (personal assistant) Heather Barwick are convinced Fraser was telling the truth, that he was drugged.”

Well, yes. The book proposes he may have been the victim of a simple crime, but hints that darker forces were at work.

Who? It doesn’t say. The likely suspects were the CIA, because the US was at the time standing in the way of the sanctions, or maybe Mossad , because Israel was apparently selling arms to South Africa and didn’t want Fraser wrecking the deal.

“However,” says the book, “he prefers not to entertain conspiracy theories.”

Paul Toohey goes on to give some gossip of the kind that suggests Mossad may not have sent secret agents across the world to snatch Mal’s daks.

I once went to Memphis looking for Fraser’s pants. I did not find them but I did find other things…

Fraser had checked into the Benbow after midnight, signing in with a scrawl that appeared to read “Joan Jones” from Victoria, and paid for the room with a $100 bill. Fraser later told the Memphis Commercial Appeal he had not called the police about his missing $10,000 Rolex, passport, wallet, $600 cash and, let’s not forget, his trousers because “I had a busy schedule to keep and chances of getting my stuff back seemed pretty remote”.

Fraser was most likely drugged at the classy Peabody by an attractive woman. After the story broke, Janine Perrett, a New York correspondent for The Australian, wrote how “poor old Malcolm was suffering memory losses”.

But she could jog his memory a short time later in New York, where Fraser promised her “an exclusive interview on the merits of floating exchange rates”. The interview never happened. Instead, Fraser wanted to go with Perrett to a “dark, smoky, smoochy bar”.

(Thanks to reader David.)

BTW - the author of this article, Andrew Bolt, is the most insufferable far-right-wing prat in Australia.

He probably feels that Mal has 'let the team down'. LOL

This hate because of the crimes of ISIS and ISL .etc,

this is what we gain from this monsters in Syria and Iraq .

It's Islamic duty to all the Muslims to fight these idiots called ISIS or ISL by ideology or gun.

they had two choice :
repent/surrender or die

And Taliban, and Al Quaeda, and Al Nusra, and all those "muslims" that read the Quram with an evil heart.

I understand your feelings about this. It must be especially horrible for decent muslim people to see this happening.

What I don't understand is how a small minority can take over whole nations. Surely they are massively outnumbered by the general population ? This certainly gives the impression that there is a lot of support from the population.

Can you help me understand how they are winning ?

They used the weapon which supposed sent from West to Rebels in Syria . most of the area that invade in Iraq and Syria are civilians (not armed) . they used fast assault as shock .

let's me take Algeria an exemple , in Algeria they were hiding the woods ,mountains , so it's difficult to find them .

their fans are mostly read/listen to extrem scholars ...etc or had bad life experience by US wars against Iraq.

OK. I understand that. I know there is a lot I don't know. It is so hard to get crucial information.

Also, like many Australians right now, I am feeling the threat from all of this in my own community.

I am trying to keep a balanced view. I have no doubt offended muslims with some of my posts lately. But I hope we can remain patient with one another. Message me any links you think might educate me.

You welcome

I have often wondered how many Islamist terrorist groups have been created and/or funded by other nations, whether America or Israel or Russia or China or whoever, for purposes of their own. These purposes could be just arms sales, or justifying war, or something else.

Do you think this happens ? Or am I just thinking crazy thoughts ?

It's not crazy....it's just that arms deals & fomenting war have machinations which regular folk don't see. When I worked in the defense industry, the government stood in the way of many deals with foreign governments. Uncle Sam sure didn't seem an ally in selling weapons.

What about the Mossad or CIA creating terror cells ?

Possible ?

in 911 CIA knew Alqaeda members whom enter to US , then they let them learning how to polite a plane .

at least CIA knew that they (Alqaeda) prepare for hijack the planes .

Alqaeda mean "The Base" it's was the base to attack soviet in Afghanistan .so the kings of oil and US helped Bin laden to fight the Soviet (Russia).

Syria the ally of Russia is the same , the West helped the rebel , which they most of them are not Syrians , by the same startegy that done in Afghanstan, king of oil and weapons ....etc .

I don't know how they created , but for sure some extrem scholars in kings of oil Wahabis scholars , and Kings of oil had fund the wars against Iraq (Saddam) , and against Syria (Bashar) , and against libya (Gadafi)

Kings of oil and West killed millions of people to fight Gadafi or Bashar and Sadam , because change regime to democraty the result civil war and terrorism .

btw Kings of oil had no democraty , so they want from Syrians become democraty !!!

Kings of oil are main sponsers and funder of terrorism and civil wars in Middle east by the green light of the West

and the West (US) is dominated by AIPAC

**staff edit**

A friend who works for me on Saturdays, told me today that he researched the notion that Muslims should lie to advance their faith. Searching on the internet, he located some guy who said something vaguely confirming his hunch. I pointed out all the difficulties of generalizing from this....& after a couple hours, made headway in making Muslims look not so evil. People (even unreasonable ones) can be reasoned with.

On another subject, I got some nice boiled wool slippers today...very comfy!
