My thoughts on Covid Vaccine

As a general principle I thought it was pretty clever.
I got the joke....but it would be even funnier if the people who made it and actually know what's in the vaccine, tested it.....

Do you trust a greedy pharmaceutical industry to not put profits first? I don't.

My philosophy is: never trust anyone anymore than you have to.

In this case I feel like we have to.

I know that this virus is real and that many have lost their lives, but I am suspicious of its origins, as well as its target victims, and I am suspicious of its media coverage, its political divisiveness and its very lucrative solution......imagine the whole world getting this one shot and it hasn't been tested for any long term adverse effects.

I know that there is an agenda to decrease the world's population because of the problems associated with food supply, housing and poverty in general. Covid has only increased the problems that many are already facing. Loss of employment has led to many more homeless and malnourished people barely living life in a tent city...especially through winter.

Poor nutrition and homelessness are as epidemic as the virus itself, especially in the US if news reports are accurate. How did the US get itself in such a sad and sorry state? It has way more cases than any other nation on earth....why do people believe its not real? Who told them it was nothing more than the flu? It is the flu.....just a more virulent strain, a manufactured one if the reports are true......but all SARS corona viruses are flu viruses. This one attacks the lungs and apparently its a horrible death. Even if you recover initially, there is no guarantee of not having continued health problems down the track.
Covid 19 targets the malnourished, the elderly and sick.....the most vulnerable of people.

I'm a skeptic.....and I don't trust them. But I will do my best to keep myself and those I love from being put at risk. My body is mine and no one is going to stick me with something that does not have my confidence.

Forced vaccination?.....They cannot force people to do something against their will. I'll wait....knowing that they will probably penalize anyone who refuses the shot. My choice....but I am not irresponsible or stupid. I am not pretending that the virus will just go away, but I am not prepared to take a rushed solution on the say so of those with vested financial interests. o_O

No ****. :)

The meme ( which is most likey oldish) is talking about testing, not distribution.

You don't get it......
Our leaders could never go first on the queue for the vaccine, not for any reason.
Imagine our PM insisting that it was only as a test. Who would believe that. ??
What a funny idea!

You're right, I don't get it.
But hey, as long as you do I guess that's all that matters. . .

That is obvious.

All I get is that Pfizer's vaccination has been accepted for delivery in all of the UK.
And NHS workers get it first. Then 90's, 80's, 70's and 'at-risk' persons, in that order.

Anybody jumping the queue under the pretense that they feel they should be tested first would be laughed down by some, shouted down by others. They
couldn't be that daft......

I saw how it could be viewed that way.
But underlying the shared anti-politician attitude,
there seemed to be an anti-vaxish one.
The vaccine has undergone tests.
If anything, I should get it before any politicians.
(I'm essential. They're easily replaced.)

I was responding just to Mika Wisniewsk's statement in the OP.
Wasn't listening to you until you butted in to my post , clearly out of context.

It's a meme, it's open for interpretation.

There's more than one vaccine and several others are still being tested.

Who doesn't trust scientists more than politicians?
Scientists? Oh, you mean the ones working for pharmaceutical mega-corporations? No, I don't trust them same as I don't trust politicians. That's naive. It was scientists who created BNC weapons, after all. Being a scientist doesn't automatically make you trustworthy or virtuous. They're just humans.

You actually "butted into" my post. Go read post 10.

I haven't responded to any of your posts un-provoked in 12 years (would think you'd have gotten the hint by now).

*Waves back (but for some reason my thumb and three of my fingers decided to sit this one out).

A local hospital just got in 2000 vaccines.
They didn't notify me though....I'm likely not on the high priority list.

The latest I heard they're starting out with healthcare workers, then essential workers like cops, firemen, forum administrators, teachers, accordion salesmen, . . .

And what will happen if some long term adverse reaction makes itself manifest down the track and covid is still mutating and waiting for another vaccine to fill the need? If the front-line workers all go down, who will be left to care for all the victims of the new and stronger strain?
The 70's up are completely expendable apparently. No one cares about them. o_O

Well, IMO only someone "daft" would trust a pharma company with huge financial interests in a vaccine during a pandemic, to test the stuff thoroughly. No one died in two weeks?....Great let's get ours out first and clean up.....this is the world we live in.....there are no good people anymore...no one you can trust with your life anymore. Sadly, those days are gone. :(

Hello Deeje.
If?...... Coronavirus is mutating, has mutated, and a new strain is gaining ground in South England as we speak with 1000 known infections (BBC News this morning) but our researchers haven't stopped work, nor will be. It's the nature of the virus, to mutate, that's evolution for you. (oops!)

If the front-line workers all go down, who will be left to care for all the victims of the new and stronger strain?
Hang on...... who told you that Covid can kill or put-down a high % of its victims?
Or..... who told you that there could be a mass adverse reaction to the vaccine? So you are trusting in the words of some people, Deeje, but not dedicated medical researchers? That's your choice.

We (wife and self) both had the Flu Vaccine a month ago. I had no reaction at all. But my wife who has a history of 'some reaction' to vaccinations had a puffy upper arm for three days, and this is an adverse reaction. Some journalists keen for a story would have described my wife as having a severe shock reaction ...... I trust our medics more than journalists for sure.

The 70's up are completely expendable apparently. No one cares about them. o_O
That's a strange pov imo. I am 70+ and offered to be a guinea pig for Oxford Uni's research team about three months ago, but so many oldies came forward that I was not selected. We don't think quite the same as you about our researchers, it seems.

That's your opinion, Deeje. Who told you the vaccine was tested for only two weeks? The vaccination might save our communities in the opinions of most Brits.

I was saved THREE WEEKS ago out of the blue by my GP, and a doctor surgeon and his team after a routine blood test! No trust? Deeje!
I was tested on a Monday, Lab technicians noted that my GFR (don't ask) had dropped from 70 -25 in two months. Circa 15 is kidney failure. ( @exchemist will know) I got a phonecall at 4pm on the Wednesday telling me to get to K&C Hospital emergency care entrance at 9am Thursday. They knocked me out and operated on me at 11am. Bladder-Kidney stents. I was home by Friday evening. But if you think that all medics are evil maybe you wouldn't have responded, had it been you? I just trust our NHS, Deeje, and Our research chemists, I guess.
