I blame the Americans for this sue everyone culture, next there will be TV ads offering no-win, no-fee legal action against anyone that evangelicals disprove of, including yoga teachers who are satan's emissaries. :p
That's the system you get when most politicians are lawyers.
Everything takes too much time & costs too much cuz anyone can sue anyone for anything with impunity.
When I become dictator.....watch out!
I'll make losers pay the other side's costs.
I'll have evidentiary hearings to weed out bogus suits.
I'll jail judges who don't follow proper procedures.
And Hawaiian shirts in court will become standard.

But in a court case wouldn't be necessary for "the ambassador" to have a letter of authenticity from "the government" that she represent? And since God haven't given authenticity papers before, I doubt he will.

Maybe he will be a witness?

I look forward to her showing evidence that the accused are homosexuals. Maybe she will need to promote mega-wild raves to further her case, or something.

Since she is claiming that there is a law of god that is being violated, I suppose God will have to testify as well.

I wish he did. I am sure there would be some choice words for her enlightenment.

I'd love to get the Abrahamic god on the witness stand. I've got a few questions for that . . . . guy.

Currently the galaxy's spookiest paraplegic
By extension she'll have to sue God for designing gay people that way. If she wins and gets custody of the entire Universe do you think God will be granted visitation rights?

The article says much more about the media than it does religion.

Remember that wacko who threatened to burn the Koran? His church was about a mile from my house. He is a complete nobody. He sells used furniture on ebay for a living, and led a congregation of 50 people. The media, starting local and then going international, turned him in to a global figure for the sole reason that this wacko provided the media with what they crave, melodrama.

Most media outlets are in the business of selling advertising. Advertising revenue is calculated by audience. The media will run literally anything that grabs eyeballs and builds their ad revenue.

They are just as corrupt as religions, corporations and governments etc, but because the media own the communication channel, you'll rarely see this discussed. Instead, the media sells us their hero story, and we typically buy it.

There's only one reason to cover a story like the one this thread points to, ad revenues.

The media exists to give the populace what it craves. If you are going to expect more from the media, you'll have to first expect more from the populace. And sadly, that isn't likely to happen anytime soon.

Truer words were never spoken. I hate it when people complain about the news not covering everything or being unbiased. News organizations are media outlets responsible for making money for investors, first and foremost. That is how capitalism works.

I like the charge, here in the US, about media being biased. The Koch brothers are advertising on Fox, CNN and MSNBC. But so far, the only station I've seen Ron Regan's atheist ad on is CNN.

I don't understand how a court would seriously consider the case. I can see a lawyer saying, "Oh yeah, we can SO sue." But will a court actually proceed with the case or just dismiss it - with prejudice.

That is why responsible voters need to get news from multiple sources. It's the only way to get a balanced view. Also, the BBC is pretty reasonable.

Don't forget that we have government owned media too (eg, NPR), & they don't bite that hand which feeds them.
All news sources should be viewed in the context of competing sources with different biases.
Personal experience can also provide one with a BS alarm.
