Not a Terrorist Insurrection

Sgt. Pepper

All you need is love.
The politicians whom they were threatening to kill? Pence, and others. While also scaring them into keeping Trump in office by force if necessary. Meets the fbi definition of domestic terrorism imo.

"Violent, criminal acts committed by individuals and/or groups to further ideological goals stemming from domestic influences, such as those of a political, religious, social, racial, or environmental nature."

The FBI is catching up with the treacherous traitors who attacked the Capitol on Jan.6, and they're facing federal charges, as well as jail and prison time. Personally, I'd like to see all of these pathetic traitors rot in prison for their rest of their miserable lives.

738 people have been charged in the Capitol insurrection so far. This searchable table shows them all.

171 rioters have pleaded guilty for their role in the Capitol insurrection so far. This table is tracking them all.

For the record. This was terrorism. It was a terrorist attack, The people who attacked the capital were terrorists. If you doubt this consult a dictionary.

ter·ror·ism
/ˈterəˌrizəm/
Learn to pronounce

noun
  1. the unlawful use of violence and intimidation, especially against civilians, in the pursuit of political aims.
    "the fight against terrorism"
That's not a "for the record" fact.
That is merely you agreeing with Ted Cruz's opinion,
based upon an ever broadening mis-use of "terrorism".
You'd have us believe that anything that causes fear
in another person is terrorism if politics is involved.
BLM protesters would be terrorists when people fear
for their property. Cops policing demonstrations would
be terrorists because of the political goal of intimidating
them to be peaceful.
Was the insurrectionist's goal to strike terror, or was it
to reverse the election. I say the latter .
So I find your usage histrionic. But worst of all, you're
on Ted Cruz's side. Oh, the shame.

Yes, the goal was to reverse a democratic election. The method was violence and intimidation. How is this unclear?

Ok, so if this was not terrorism, how do you define terrorism?

Y How is this unclear.
It's quite clear.
I'm trying to make it so to you.

My go to source....
Definition of terrorism | Dictionary.com
1) the unlawful use of violence or threats to intimidate or coerce a civilian population or government, with the goal of furthering political, social, or ideological objectives.
2) the state of fear and submission produced by terrorism.

The insurrection was an assault. The civilian population &
government (as a whole) weren't in fear. It was a highly
targeted attempt to take over the Capitol building.
The mere fact that AOC & some others were frightened
isn't terror in the context of the definition.

When someone is pushed too hard expect someone to push back.

The right pushed hard Jan 6th. So push back - Lock trump up. Lock up all those who participated in Jan 6 insurrection (under way). Arrest and lock up all trump's senators and congresscritters. Nullify the far right SCOTUS. Everyone on the left should buy guns and ammo and practice just in case it's needed. Arrest all those in the media who lied about the election. Arrest all of those who tried to overturn Biden's clear victory.

PUSH BACK - YEAH. Let's roll.

Most are misdemeanor offences, so stop over dramatizing the reality.

The felonies lay with those who entered the inner sanctum including the chambers.

It would be gratifying to see Trump in handcuffs, as he's escorted away by federal agents. It would also be gratifying to know he's going to prison. In fact, it would be gratifying to see Steve Bannon, and all of Trump's sycophantic minions meet the same fate.

Republicans criticize Ted Cruz for calling Jan. 6 a violent terrorist attack

GOP has turned on Ted Cruz for actually telling it like it is. Shame.
This is really quite funny.

But my guess is Ted Cruz has his eye on running for president, against Trump if necessary, and while he tries hard (with great success, I might add) to be the arsehole's arsehole, this is one point of differentiation from Trump he may feel he can exploit. He may think the US public is not quite ready to support the overthrow of democracy.

I agree. I suspect this country is on the path of civil war if nothing changes.

Cruz being born in Canada, he won't stand a snowball chance in hell against Trump and his supporters.

if he's born in canada he can't run. only natural born citizens can run for president

edit: Corrected terminology after @Shadow Wolf brought it to my attention I used the wrong terminology

It's not national born but naturalized citizens. He may have been born in Canada, but his parents where there on business and not as permanent residents. So Cruz is indeed eligible.
