Now it's Hillary vs. Trump... how will you pick?

For starters, someone who really loves America.
Great bumper sticker, but I am selfish and I would like to hear more. What, specifically, in his campaign draws you to it? Again, no bait n'switch here, just genuine curiosity from a guy who thinks about politics a bit differently.

I'm very well aware that he's not the most eloquent person at times, but he has expressed ideas (of a stronger America, better plans to deal with ISIS, better border security, better foreign policy, etc) that are along the lines of what I believe America needs the most right now.

I think from what I'm seeing on TV that practically speaking it is down to Hillary and Trump. For those who are interested in this discussion what are you going to do about it come November?

YouTube political channels seem to have a different view... and more viewers.
I prefer watching politics via YouTube so that I can fact check in real time.
It seems the end result will likely be Bernie Vs Trump.
The media is on Hillary's side and to Trumps advantage (free advertising).

If I was in the USA I'd vote Trump, but lucky for you I only get to pollute the British democratic system.

(Mainly for foreign policy reasons, less chance of WWIII with Trump than Hillary believe it or not)

But he's only said catchphrase not am actually plan. And foreign policy and border security are not the major issues right now.

If Trump gets in it'll be amusing to watch Trump pass laws to make a foreign government pay for his wall. But it won't be as amusing watching American forces invade Scotland to destroy the wind turbines off his golf course.

I will most likely vote for the Libertarian candidate.

I will not vote for Clinton.

If for any reason I came to believe the Libertarian candidate was worse than Trump, I'd vote for Trump. I would prefer not to, but I would do that, or pick some minor "not a chance in hell of winning" candidate.

(I used to vote for one of the two big party candidates, since I thought that was the only way my vote would count. I saw the light when someone on this forum pointed out that voting for the lesser of two evils is still voting for evil. I have felt much better after voting for neither of the big two unless I actually wanted to vote for them, and simply voting for whoever I actually thought would be better, even if I didn't think it likely they'd win.)

Here is an interesting possibility. Assuming Clinton gets the nomination, there are two scenarios that rattle in my head.

  1. As unlikely as it is, what if Sanders was her VP nominee?
  2. What if Sanders ran as a third party?
Just food for thought.

I hope he doesn't do #2 it would split the vote and we would have a Republican president
