Where do you get off telling me what is good for my kids when you don't have any? I live in a society that has sexualized everything, I live in a society where there are exhibitionists and sorts of perverts out there. It is my duty to protect my children from whatever I think they need to be protected from. I don't want my kids expose to human grossness. If you want to run around naked, do so in private or where that is accepted. The rest of us do not want to see it.

If you've managed to convey your feelings about nudity to your kids, they might be more traumatized by your feelings than they would be by actual nudity.

In my case that is definitely true, and I do see that its a minor problem for most people. For some people its a worse problem. I don't think its purely a religious issue although that feeds into it, but I think it is a European issue since Europeans developed vulnerable skin over the last ten thousand years or so. We get sunburn, and we don't really look good naked relatively speaking, because the white shows off all the defects. Also we tend to be stinky. Layers of clothing help with most of those things.

I think one thing that has changed in the last century or so is that children no longer play together naked, and that could be the main source of discomfort and misunderstandings about sex and nudity.

Another thing is that people no longer live on farms, so they don't ever see animals copulate. It sounds silly, but animals have been part of human life in Europe and the North for tens of thousands of years. Their removal from daily life may be a much bigger deal than modern 'Civilized' folks perceive.

Well, I disagree about Europeans not looking good naked. And, stinky? Wtf. Lol.

Your average person may not look good naked, but why would that matter? If nudity were common it would be unremarkable no matter what people looked like.
Nudity need not be an artistic display.

Ears look pretty odd, too, if you think about it, but they go unnoticed, just as the jiggly bits go unnoticed in societies where the sight of them is commonplace.
