Can we start by agreeing that this didn't happen? That your news sources published things that are not true?
Tom

Pleeeeease. You said "your news source published". It isn't MY news source nor
do I believe everything I read.
Do "news sources" distort the facts in favor of underlying agendas ?
Well, most likely.
After all we can certainly believe Benghazi was just a reaction to ...........................
Tom and Jerry cartoons.
I really don't care WHY the attacks occurred in Benghazi; I DO care that
Killary LET THEM DIE!

Really????
Freedom of religion? What did our founding fathers want?
Why did the pilgrims come to this land?
Freedom from religious persecution. NOT freedom from God.
I'm not from the US and even i know this is absolute rubbish.

I checked and snopes says it IS false.
So who does one believe on the internet?
Or in the newspapers, t-v, radio...................................????
All the above have political leanings.
Snopes isn't anymore reliable than any other news source with a political bent.
Snopes is notoriously liberal.

Snopes receives funding from an undisclosed source. The source is undisclosed because Snopes refuses to disclose that source. The Democratic Alliance, a funding channel for uber-Leftist (Marxist) Billionaires (George Soros etc.), direct funds to an "Internet Propaganda Arm" pushing these views. The Democratic Alliance has been reported to instruct Fundees to not disclose their funding source.

The Snopes site claims it receives nothing from anyone.
ReallY?

Nope, it's fake.

But I am a bit confused by the whole thread. Who in their right mind thinks under god should be plastered all over our government buildings?

Thanks all.
Glad to know it's the rubbish it seemed to me and a fake.
A nasty fake at that.

My original post was a mess and didn't make any sense. So, to try again, lol:

I wish it were true. It would be a great thing. I have no doubt that God would not want to be associated with our government or any government at all. They should remove references to Him from money, the Pledge of Allegiance, etc. They also should stop the practice of swearing on Bibles or other religious texts. Probably should away with swearing oaths altogether. It's rather pointless, anyway.

To anyone who might claim that having everyone (including heathens)
say "under God" is a minor matter, I offer this experiment....
For one week, change the pledge to say "under Allah".
Let's see if people will find this to be a deminimis imposition.

Haha. I'd like to see the day!

Try refusing to say the pledge in public school.
It caused this student some trouble.

More of it shouldn't be (rather than cause) a problem in and of itself. People can use tradition in a well meaning way others can abuse it. Keep telling people it's not about the gun itself-it's just metal and whatever it's made up of, it's about who shoots it and if he does.

Exactly! How does this create jobs or benefit the economy?

We need to replace this pie-in-the-sky claptrap with ads for Monsanto, Berkshire Hathaway, Lockheed Martin and Koch Industries!

There is nothing like taking someones thoughts and turning them into something completely different. It always gives a warm and fuzzy feeling doesn't it?

All I am saying is that religion is fine for those who want it. But there is absolutely no reason why our government should be endorsing god. One of the founding principles of our government was freedom from religious oppression. Unless you only think that only applies to good christian folk...?
