Obama versus Trump responding to school shootings

Wow, way to miss my point ;)
Well, I was surprised to see a poster citing the Bible to me.
Only one poster here ever insisted I was a Xian, who only pretended to be an atheist.
Supposedly, it was so I could advocate for creationism.
(I loathe creationism, btw.)
It was a very strange argument.
I gave up trying to convince him.
Some people are best avoided.

Any, the Bible is irrelevant.
Then reasonably, we're not talking about regulations on a wide array of guns
I don't know what this means.
But I'll state that I favor more regulation of them than there is, but not banning.
Should the government be able to provide it?
Sure.
I see single payer (not compulsory) as the eventual approach Americastan will adopt.
Perhaps not in my lifetime, but eventually.

Obama's response to school shootings is actually what made me begin to dislike him from the start. Not just his stance on guns themselves but how he treated the families who were victims of this violence. It was Sandy Hook in which I believe I recall some of the victim's families being pro-gun and disagreeing with Obama on his sances entirely.

But Obama was very insulting and arrogant regarding the issue nonetheless and it sickened me growing up. It was such a staged affair with the sobbing of families bolstering this man's filth.

Obama did nothing in the way of meaningful gun regulation.
Did he want to do more for gun regulation?
Was he hindered?

Trump hasn't either, but he's only been in office a little over a year. It's early to judge.
Under growing public pressure Trump is beginning to wobble. He has suggested that more gun controls might be needed, and the NRA is distancing itself from him.

The people are pushing, now.

I thought you went to church?

Well don't tell the NRA that, or they'll call you a coward.
President Trump is wobbling towards some more controls.

Obama for most of his time in office faced a right-wing NRA s***-storm of opposition. I wish he had done more or at least had tried.

But the big difference is that President Obama did not need a cheat sheet to tell him how to talk with victims. His heart was in the right place.

Only when paid (sexton job while in school),
or when the go club met there.

Everyone calls me a coward.
And I get regular PMs from a special poster.
President Trump is wobbling towards some more controls.

But the gubment gonna take r guns!
Perhaps you haven't noticed, but a great many people are lobbying to take AR15s away.
Their reason....
"They're so scary looking! And black! No one needs a scary looking black gun!"

Btw, I got my quote where you got yours.
(We got the toofer one deal.)

what they say does not matter, what the do is different
Gun production has doubled under Obama
And you really don't know why? How about the rapid rise of militia and white-supremist groups? How about the increased number of mass shootings? How about the scare tactics used by the NRA and its supporters.

BTW, if Jesus was around today, which semi-automatic assault-type weapon do you think he'd be carrying around? And do you think he'd support your gun position over the death of innocent children? Maybe he was misquoted and actually said "Bring the weapons of killing innocent people unto me because of that is the Kingdom of God"?

Are you forgetting “Fast and Furious”? Obama actually sold guns to criminals through his DOJ.
Obama did not do that, and the the idea was to let some of these guns to go into circulation so they could be followed in order to go after the drug cartel. This is an old tactic used by the FBI, but in this case it backfired because they lost track of the guns.

I’ve noticed that the “scary looking” thing being talking points from gun advocates. What I’ve seen in reality is call for restriction or ban of assault weapons or semi automatics.

I know....they're so ignorant about guns that they don't even know what to call what they'd ban.
Actual assault weapons have been illegal without a very special license since the 1930s.
"Scary looking" is their reason.
It's why they obsess over the AR15, but ignore the ordinary looking Ruger Mini 14 (same caliber & capacity).

Actually assault weapons is a broader term than that, depending on who you ask and has little to do with how scary it looks. I don’t like the term personally because it’s broad but I’ve seen it so i mentioned it.

If you ask the wrong people, you get the wrong answer.
It's like the scientific method. Some might say....
"First you must deny God...."
Ask only people who know guns.
I recommend @esmith.
