The OP doesn't mention anything about what the deathbed person believed.
It doesn't matter what the person
believed before converting to christianity.
Isn't the whole concept of being "saved" that you are forgiven?
The Scripture says we must believe the gospel and be baptized into Christ. The gospel is preached in the Scripture, and baptism is the first act of faith of the believer.
Yes, so?
Preaching to someone a false gospel gives them a false hope.and a false hope doesn't save them.
What false gospel / hope?
We are merely talking about the concept of a "death bed conversion".
ie, getting baptised, repenting, accepting Jesus as personal saviour etc.
What's the problem?
Are you saying that this can't be done?
A person who believed the true gospel and was baptized is cleansed of their past sins.
Right, so exactly like the OP mentioned then......
If Adolf Hitler near the end of the war in his bunker in Berlin suddenly "sees the truth", gets baptized, repents, accepts jesus,... and thus goes through a genuine conversion, then his past sins would be erased / cleansed and the dude will then be saved / safe, right?
So what are you arguing about, really?
