Of course you will know something is missing if you get an indication from some part of your body, be it physical or mental. is that not how you know when you are hungry? Why would they be happy if they obviously felt something was missing from their life. Sure, in the pursuit of happiness people will do just about anything.
Hence mankind has a spiritual need that give indication it needs filling.
A person becomes aware that something is missing from their life. When that need is met, they know, and they are satisfied.
Why? Why would one pearl make someone happy? The value of the pearl meant a lot to the merchant, because he knew what it would mean for him.Seems obvious the pearl he found made him happy.
Yes. True happiness has greater value.Happiness has high value.
Why are they looking for it? Matthew 5:3 It's there to be found. If none of these things are bringing them happiness/joy they look elsewhere.
You did provide a link, but it did not say that "Feelings are a response to chemicals released into the physical body." If it did, then the information need to be revised.Link was provided in the previous post.
What causes the release of these chemicals. we don't want to go circular here. Try this.
When all the pieces of a puzzle are fitted together, only then can we truthfully say, we have completed the puzzle. Until then, we have bits and pieces, and we are trying to figure out the complete picture.
I think you are right here. 2 corinthians 4:3, 4God convinced me. I'd like to say I figured it out on my own but the truth is God convinced me that the religions of man were not based on any real knowledge of God.
No it just shows that your claims cannot be true. You can't have your cake and eat it too.Because they haven't completely let go of all material attachments. I think some can/have through their spiritual belief but very few.
Just shows spiritual belief is not perfect either.
Look through the thread.Who's we? Who else are you claiming to speak for?
A suspicion is what? You claim to have found "true happiness". I have to take your word for it. I'm not a mind reader.
When others make claims about their state of mind, I have to take their word on it as well. I don't claim knowledge of something I don't know.
I have no desire to believe or disbelieve, just giving people the benefit of the doubt.
a) the act or an instance of suspecting something ... without proof or on slight evidence : mistrust.
b) a state of mental uneasiness and uncertainty : doubt.
Quoting your words...
I suspect other ways have evolved of obtaining these desired feelings. Friendship, love, charity, etc...
This has nothing to do with what others claim, but has everything to do with what you think.
Am I mistaken?
I was just asking if it is what you may want to believe.
Why does it seem that way to you? Why not accept what others are telling you as an alternative to what you believe, and a possible reality, if you are really giving them the benefit of the doubt?
