I watch the Western movie (action, romance , comedy ...etc) , i almost know very well Americans way of life .

that's maybe an excuse , but it's extended to all civilians , so if my neighborhood had gun , i will not feel save until i buy a gun too , do you get my point ?

Movies aren't accurate depictions of reality unless you watch certain kinds of movies that are trying to point out something about culture (like Natural Born Killers, which most people didn't get, because people are stupid and don't understand satire and cultural criticism, which ironically just proves the social critic right).

Let's put it this way, guns are just inanimate objects. They don't do anything unless a person makes them do something. They don't call out to you saying things like "hey, pick me up and shoot that person over there". It takes a person to put a gun into some sort of action. So the root of the problem is whatever is driving the person to pick up the gun and massacre people. The root of the problem is not the gun itself. That's missing the entire reality of the situation. To solve this problem, we must address the root of it and not the mere symptom.

Because the everyday life of the average American is exactly like a TV sitcom or action/romantic comedy, complete with shallow clichés, two dimensional and archetypical characters, deus ex machinas, and laugh-tracks. Also, in America we walk away slowly from explosions, without flinching or looking back.

If no guns, then what? Knives, explosives, gas, poison, bows and arrows...... List goes on....

It's why the gun debate is getting stale.

Actually, a quick correction. Technically the number of mass shootings this year is 293 as of 2 days ago. So at least 294 this year.

Claiming someone has no concept of western culture because they currently don't live there is a bit presumptuous. Your making a bold claim claiming that godo has no idea about american culture without neccesarily knowing Godo's history with western people.

Seems people in the west make many claims about other nations cultures then be hypocrites when anything is mentioned about western culture they disagree with.
